Emotiva is an American manufacturer proposing a comprehensive range of hi-fi and home theater electronics. The brand’s passionate team aims to align the cost price with the sales price for its integrated amplifiers, CD players, DACs and power amplifiers.
The wide range of products proposed by Emotiva includes DAC amplifiers, power amplifiers, integrated amplifiers, preamplifiers, CD players and a number of subwoofers, all of which are designed in the United States, and most of which are also manufactured there. This is the case for the brand’s power amplifiers, for example.
The brand’s XPA range of power amplifiers is?just like the rest of Emotiva?s products?very well designed. The Emotiva XPA-2 Gen3, Emotiva XPA-3 Gen3, Emotiva XPA-4 Gen3, Emotiva XPA-5 Gen3, Emotiva XPA-6 Gen3 and Emotiva XPA-7 Gen3 amplifiers all have something in common: their power supply. Initially developed for the 7-channel model, this power supply was subsequently installed in all of the XPA power amplifiers. With a whopping 3,000 W, these power amplifiers are able to power everything from 2- to 8-channel systems. Each amplifier can develop 200 W per channel with all channels activated and over the entire audio spectrum from lows to highs, with a level of distortion in line with hi-fi standards. Their great value also makes them an attractive choice.
The power amplifiers in the BasX range have been developed using the same approach, although their power ratings are more modest. The Emotiva BasX A-150, Emotiva BasX A-300, Emotiva BasX A-500, Emotiva BasX A-700 and Emotiva BasX A-800 are all Class-AB power amplifiers designed to be paired with any AV receiver or hi-fi amplifier equipped with a pre-out output, or any other source with a variable level output, such as the Emotiva BasX PT-100 preamplifier and the Emotiva Big Ego DAC.
Emotiva also proposes two subwoofer ranges. The first features bass-reflex models designed for both hi-fi and home theater installations. These models include the Emotiva BasX S8, Emotiva BasX S10 and Emotiva BasX S12, which are equipped with robust amplifiers delivering 150 to 300 W, along with 8? to 12? drivers. The brand’s second range of subwoofers is designed specifically for home theater installations, with passive radiators to ensure an extended frequency response (close to 25 Hz). This range includes the Emotiva Airmotiv S10 and Emotiva Airmotiv S12.
