Important update for the Bowers & Wilkins Headphones app

The Bowers & Wilkins PX7 Bluetooth headphones also benefit from the new Bowers & Wilkins Headphones app update.

We are happy to announce the arrival of an update for the Bowers & Wilkins Headphones app on iOS and Android systems. This new version of the app (v.2.3.0) has a slightly different interface to that of the current version. Users will have to swipe from right to left to display the various settings.

The main change concerns the integration of the Soundscapes mode: 6 acoustic atmospheres to immerse the user: “Beach”, “Forest”, “Waterfall”, “Rain”, “Stream”, “Campfire”. It is possible to set a timer to stop the background sound after a certain amount of time.

A new firmware version (v1.1) for headphones is also available in the app. This firmware is applicable to all new Pi3, Pi4, PX5 and PX7 headphones. To make sure you get the most out of these headphones, we recommend you use the latest version of the firmware.

New features and improvements:

The Ambient pass-through feature has been improved. The volume of music and other content can now be adjusted when the feature is activated. The volume level is also saved after the device has been turned off or been through a power-cycle.

The responsiveness of automatic Bluetooth pairing has been improved (after the device has been turned off or after it has been in standby mode).

The Bluetooth device pairing settings can now be adjusted in the Headphones app. During Bluetooth pairing, your headphones can be automatically paired to either the last device or to your preferred “main” device.

The battery level of the earphones is now visible in the app.

The automatic play/pause feature with sensor detection on the PX7, PX5 and PI4 has been further improved.

Things that have been fixed:

The problem of the noise cancellation feature automatically changing during calls.

The deactivation of the noise cancellation feature that switches to High mode after a charging cycle.

Minor bug fixes.
