Founded in 1991 by Peter Thomas and Adrian Loader, the British manufacturer PMC (Professional Monitor Company) celebrates its 30th anniversary this year.

PMC’s first steps were taken in the field of professional audio. Not satisfied with the speakers available at the time, the two founders combined their expertise and their passion for music to create the BB5-A monitor speaker, then the brand’s very first production. After forging a solid reputation, PMC became the only brand to receive an Emmy Award for its contribution to the evolution of sound recording technologies. These monitor speakers have been used to mix the soundtracks of many films, in particular Titanic, The Dark Knight and Skyfall.

After conquering the professional audio market, PMC decides to apply this same precision to the field of high-fidelity and became a true audiophile reference. The brand makes a point of creating speakers and electronics that deliver the most detailed and transparent music reproduction possible, just as the artist intended.

The PMC Twenty5 series, launched to celebrate the brand’s 25th anniversary in 2016.

PMC’s catalog currently includes monitor speakers, bookshelf speakers, floorstanding speakers, center speakers, in-wall speakers, subwoofers, hi-fi stereo amplifiers and speaker stands.

Kate has been a translator and writer for Son-Vidéo.com since 2018. She enjoys sharing her passion for music and cinema in the news articles she pens for the blog, but when she’s not working you’ll find her watching an indie film (probably Sofia Coppola's "Lost in Translation" for the hundredth time) or spinning a David Bowie, Kate Bush, Joy Division or Aphex Twin record on her Rega Planar 1 turntable.
