Cloud gaming is gaining momentum and is emerging as a solution of the future for gamers. Major players in the video game industry have successfully embraced it (Nvidia Geforce Now, Xbox Game Pass with Microsoft’s xCloud, PlayStation Now), recently joined by the two web giants Google (Google Stadia) and Amazon (Amazon Luna).
By outsourcing the processing to the game provider’s servers, the player no longer needs to invest in a state-of-the-art console or a high-performance graphics card to enjoy the latest video games with excellent image quality.
LG Electronics and NVIDIA have taken things a step further by announcing a partnership to bring GeForce NOW, one of the most popular cloud-based video game streaming services, to LG LED TVs and LG OLED TVs running webOS. By developing a GeForce NOW application for its TVs, LG would be the first TV manufacturer to feature the pioneer of cloud-based gaming services (the full list of compatible LG TVs will be announced very soon).
LG 4K TV: optimized for gaming
Renowned for their image quality, excellent responsiveness (input lag) and support for VRR, ALLM, Nvidia G-Sync and AMD FreeSync gaming functions via their HDMI 2.1 connectivity, LG OLED televisions are perfectly suited for GeForce NOW.
Currently available on NVIDIA SHIELD, Windows PC, Mac OS, Chrome OS, Android and on the Safari browser for iPhone and iPad, the GeForce NOW service will allow gamers to begin a gaming session on their LG TV and continue on almost any the devices they own.
GeForce NOW application on LG 4K TVs
The beta version of the GeForce NOW app will be available to download in the coming days from the LG Content Store app catalog on select LG 4K OLED, LG QNED Mini LED and LG NanoCell 2021 TV models. This app will allow LG TV owners with compatible TVs to instantly enjoy over 35 free games by simply connecting a compatible controller to their TV, with no additional hardware required.
Among the games offered are the essential Rocket League and Destiny 2, but also successful titles such as Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy and the Crysis Remastered Trilogy, all of which can be played at up to 1080p at 60 frames per second. GeForce NOW Priority members will be able to take advantage of ray tracing, artificial intelligence technologies, as well as the speed and power of NVIDIA RTX servers for more responsive gameplay and breathtaking cutting-edge graphics.

LG OLED A1 TV range
LG’s OLED A1 TVs are the entry ticket into the Korean manufacturer’s OLED range and integrate the LG α7 Gen 4 Processor 4K with artificial intelligence for image and sound processing. Compatible with HDR 10, HLG, Dolby Vision IQ and HGIG, the LG OLED A1 range also supports Dolby Atmos. Its three 4K 60 FPS compatible HDMI 2.0 inputs benefit from low latency for video games, and a settings mode dedicated to gaming has been added. The new webOS 6.0 interface is even more user-friendly for quick access to your favorite video content on all streaming platforms. Finally, AirPlay 2 compatibility, Google Assistant and Alexa are also part of the package.
LG OLED B1 TV range
The LG OLED B1 TV range is compatible with HDR 10, HLG, Dolby Vision IQ and HGIG (HDR mode for gaming) and also supports 4K 120 FPS video content via its two HDMI 2.1 inputs with VRR G-Sync and FreeSync (gaming PC, Playstation 5, Xbox Series X). Two 4K 60 FPS compatible HDMI 2.0 inputs are also present. Regarding sound, the 40-watt, 2.2-channel audio section with integrated subwoofer is Dolby compatible and supports Dolby Atmos audio tracks. LG OLED C1 TV range

LG OLED G1 TV range
The LG OLED G1 TV range features an ultra-thin display specifically designed to be placed on the wall using the included wall bracket (the LG OLED G1 are sold without a base). Among the new features offered by these 2021 LG OLED televisions is the LG α9 Gen4 AI Processor 4K which detects the type of content viewed (sports, film, cartoons…) to adopt the most appropriate image settings. The 4K EVO UHD OLED display is also optimized to provide greater brightness with even more intense contrasts. The Filmmaker Mode is also included, offering a cinematic reproduction that is as faithful to the director’s intentions as possible, without any intervention from the viewer. The 4.2 channel Dolby Atmos compatible audio section totals 60 watts of power and can take advantage of Bluetooth connectivity to use 2 Bluetooth speakers and wirelessly stream the rear surround channels. LG OLED G1 TVs are equipped with 4 HDMI 2.1 ports compatible with 4K 120 FPS, G-Sync/FreeSync and ALLM to fully enjoy the latest video games.
LG QNED 91 MiniLED TV range
LG’s QNED 91 UHD 4K TVs are HDR10 and Dolby Vision IQ compatible. These LG QNED 91 TVs benefit from NanoCell Display technology to improve the richness and precision of colors and have a MiniLED backlight to optimize image brightness and contrast. Two VRR FreeSync and ALLM compatible HDMI 2.1 ports support 4K 120Hz images from video game consoles and PCs. LG QNED 91 Smart TVs can access Netflix, Disney+, Apple TV+ and Prime Video and play files shared over the local network.
