FiiO SP3: futuristic design
Designed to be placed alongside your computer, TV or in any room of the house, the FiiO SP3 speakers adopt an ultra-compact format, with a height of just 16.5cm and a width of 12cm. They are particularly elegant, with a striated all-metal chassis. Its base is adorned with a 24-color LED strip, reinforcing the futuristic look of this acoustic work of art. A second base allows the speaker to be tilted by 7° for optimal perception of the different frequencies when seated close to the speakers.
FiiO SP3: carbon driver
In order to deliver top performance from such a compact speaker, the Asian manufacturer has developed new acoustic solutions. The 3.5″ midbas driver features a carbon fiber cone to maximize rigidity and dynamics while reducing distortion. Its magnetic system is unique, with a double circuit mounted asymmetrically. Raising the flux to over 1.2 tesla, it ensures a dynamic, vivid reproduction, even at low volume.
To maximize the bass response, this driver is bass-reflex loaded via a rear port. The latter adopts an S-shaped inner tube to optimize airflow, thus limiting turbulence. This effectively enhances the impact and power of the bass. In addition, a damping system is installed at the port input and outlet to filter out residual noise.
FiiO SP3: optimized tweeter
The tweeter fitted to the FiiO SP3 is a 1″ silk dome model. The manufacturer has paid particular attention to the internal structure of this tweeter to ensure effective absorption of unwanted waves and limit resonance. This capacity can also be explained by the large cavity at the rear of the magnet assembly. As a result, reproduction is more precise and devoid of coloration. Finally, the dome’s geometric pattern extends diffusion and limits the sweet spot effect.
FiiO SP3: analog inputs
With its 80 watts of total power, the FiiO SP3 speaker offers remarkable dynamics, equally suited to music, film or video game soundtracks. The various modules are integrated into the main speaker, which also includes the connectors. With three analog inputs, including one RCA and two 3.5mm mini-jack connectors, it can easily be combined with a variety of sources, such as a computer, DAC or network player. The Asian manufacturer offers a FiiO SP3 + FiiO R7 pack, forming an excellent connected hi-fi system controlled by the brand’s latest touchscreen network player.
