At a time when online music platforms are more comprehensive than ever before, Spotify is rolling out a new feature in direct competition with YouTube Music. The Swedish streaming service is now testing music videos in addition to audio!

The Swedish platform, which recently announced a price increase in France, is unveiling a major new feature. The streaming service now includes music videos. Still in the test phase, this feature is available to Premium subscribers in eleven countries (UK, Brazil, Colombia, Germany, Indonesia, Italy, Kenya, Netherlands, Poland, Sweden and the Philippines).
For Premium subscribers interested in this test, simply click on the “Skip to video” button when playing a track to see the artist’s official music video. This new feature follows the integration a year ago of short 30-second videos that artists can create to interact with their listeners on the platform.
Spotify’s strategic choice makes the platform a direct competitor to YouTube Music. Today, the American media company is offering its subscription at 10.99 euros per month, the same price as Spotify Premium. However, as previously mentioned, the Swedish service will soon become more expensive in France…
