Alongside the announcement of the Sonos Ace headphones, the American manufacturer also presented its new portable WiFi and Bluetooth speaker: the Sonos Roam 2. Replacing the popular Sonos Roam, it has all the functions of the latter, while making configuration easier.
Sonos Roam 2: Bluetooth and WiFi
Like the first Sonos Roam, this new generation offers Bluetooth and WiFi music playback. This dual connectivity is simplified, however, with the possibility of Bluetooth use right out of the box, unlike the previous generation which required an initial WiFi configuration in the Sonos app. Switching between WiFi and Bluetooth connections is also more fluid and intuitive.

Like its predecessor, the Sonos Roam 2 speaker features WiFi and Bluetooth connectivity, making it suitable for any environment. At home, WiFi gives it the same options as other Sonos connected speakers, with access to streaming services, webradios, multi-room, etc. Once the user goes out of the WiFi range, music can be streamed via Bluetooth from a smartphone or tablet, for example.

The Sonos Roam II speaker offers up to 10 hours of battery life, so it can follow you everywhere. Its robust, waterproof design means it can be installed close to the pool or in the bathroom. Control can be via its physical interface, from the Sonos mobile app, or vocally thanks to its compatibility with Alexa and Sonos Voice. However, this feature is only available via WiFi. Last but not least, TruePlay calibration with a built-in microphone ensures optimal sound in any environment.

The Sonos Roam II portable speaker is now available from Son-Vidéo.com for €199, the same launch price as the first-generation model. It promises to be an excellent all-round solution for enjoying music both at home and in the garden.
