Monitor Audio presents the new Studio 89 as a vibrant tribute to its legendary 80s range. With its glossy black finish and gold driver cones, it elegantly evokes the style of the legendary Monitor Audio Studio 15 launched in 1989. The lines of the Studio 89 have been modernized, gaining in refinement with a double figure-of-eight surround around the drivers, recalling the graceful curves of a Formula 1 car. Cutting-edge technologies
The Monitor Audio Studio 89 incorporates cutting-edge acoustic technologies borrowed from the top-of-the-range Platinum series and the ultimate Monitor Audio Hyphn. At the heart of this speaker is the MPD III (Micro Pleated Diaphragm) tweeter. This ribbon tweeter uses a pleated diaphragm that enables it to respond extremely quickly, and to rise in frequency up to 60kHz with remarkable clarity and precision. The two 4.25″ midbass drivers use RDT III (Rigid Diaphragm Technology) diaphragms. These are made up of several ultra-thin layers of advanced materials such as C-CAM (Ceramic-Coated Aluminium Magnesium) and a cone without a core cover. This combination reduces distortion and ensures an accurate midrange and bass reproduction.
The Studio 89 is also equipped with two HiVe II (High Velocity) ports that optimize air circulation inside the cabinet. These reduce turbulence and improve low-frequency response, delivering deeper, more controlled bass. HiVe II technology also ensures greater responsiveness and precision in the lows. As a result, the Monitor Audio Studio 89 speaker offers an extended frequency response from 48Hz to 60kHz (-6 dB) for a very high power handling capacity of 150W RMS.
