Chinese manufacturer Zidoo is renewing its media player range with four new models: the Zidoo Z3000 PRO, Zidoo Z30 PRO, Zidoo Z9X 8K and Zidoo UHD8000. All compatible with UHD 8K and 4K streams at 60 fps, as well as Dolby Vision and HDR10+ standards, they promise an optimal cinema experience by supporting all the latest audio and video formats.
UHD 8K and 4K HDR
Parent company of the now famous Eversolo, Zidoo specializes in the design of multimedia players capable of supporting the majority of audio and video formats. For this new range, the manufacturer equips all models with the latest Amlogic S928X-K image processor. Identical to the model on board the R_volution Player One 8K, this chip supports UHD 8K and 4K files at up to 60 fps, as well as Dolby Vision and HDR10+ standards.

To optimize the display, the brand relies on a number of proprietary technologies, including its VS10 engine, which maps content to enhance the color and clarity of non-HDR-encoded programs. The manufacturer also relies on its fluidity enhancement system to ensure that scenes are always sharp and realistic. Upscaling is possible up to UHD 8K to take full advantage of a projector or 8K TV, even with lower-resolution files such as 720 or 1080p.

Audio and video playback
The new Zidoo streamers support the majority of video and audio formats, including Dolby Atmos and DTS:X tracks, as well as Lossless files such as DSD (SACD ISO, DSF, DFF), WAV, APE or FLAC. The range-topping Zidoo UHD8000 goes even further, with an audiophile design featuring dual power supplies with toroidal transformers, hi-fi components and an ESS Sabre DAC for music playback at up to 32-bit/768kHz and DSD512.

Based on a modified version of Android 11, Zidoo media players can index your various content shared via DLNA on the network (NAS or computer) or stored locally on hard drives connected by USB or mounted in available racks. Movie and series covers and content summaries can be displayed. Subtitles can also be downloaded. What’s more, the Android system comes with a host of pre-installed apps for both audio and video streaming.

Scalable connectivity
The differences between these four Zidoo players lie mainly in their connectors. While they all feature at least one HDMI 2.1a output, analog audio inputs and outputs are added as you move upmarket. Here are the specific features of each model:
