Canal+ is set to make a major impact on the world of television by becoming the first European channel to offer programs broadcast in Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos from the end of 2024. For subscribers, this means a radically enhanced visual and audio experience, whether for sporting events, films or series.

A real visual and sound upgrade
Good news for lovers of beautiful images and immersive sound: Canal+ is taking things up a gear with the integration of Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos technologies on its “Canal+ UHD HDR” and “Événement 4K HDR” channels.
In concrete terms, what does this mean for you? Dolby Vision technology promises enhanced image quality, with deep contrast, vivid colors and brightness adjusted to reveal the finest details. Every scene becomes more realistic, more vibrant.

As for Dolby Atmos, it perfects audio with three-dimensional sound that moves around and above you. With a compatible soundbar or home theater system, simple stereo effects are a thing of the past: you’ll be immersed in the heart of the action, whether you’re watching a soccer match or an action movie. You’ll hear every noise, as if you were at the stadium or on the set.

Unmissable sporting events
From September 14, sports fans will be the first to benefit from this technological evolution. Canal+ will be offering four major sporting events every week in UHD HDR, soon to include support for Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos. This means you can fully enjoy UEFA Champions League matches (for French clubs at home), Formula 1 Grand Prix and Premier League or TOP 14 matches.
