Epson has just revealed its new laser mini-projectors, the Epson EF-21 and EF-22, which are being added to the EpiqVision range. These compact and elegant devices promise an immersive cinema experience at home or on the go, with a picture that can reach 150 inches, or 3.8m, across.

Design and versatility

The Epson EF-21 and EF-22 projectors stand out with their sophisticated design as well as their versatility. The Epson EF-22 has an elegant metallic blue appearance, while the EF-21 has an intense white finish. Both can project in all directions, whether its onto a wall, the ceiling or the floor. To do this, the Epson EF-21 is equipped with a height-adjustable base underneath the front panel. The Epson EF-22, meanwhile, boasts an integrated tilting stand for added flexibility.

Image and sound quality

Thanks to Epson’s 3LCD technology, these compact projectors provide bright and vivid images. With an impressive contrast of 5,000,000:1, they ensure well-defined shadows and deep blacks. As for audio, both models are equipped with 5W drivers that can also be used as separate Bluetooth speakers.

Smart features
The Epson EF-21 and EF-22 projectors incorporate Google TV, which provides access to thousands of movies and series episodes on various streaming platforms like Netflix, which is integrated natively. Google Assistant is also included for convenient voice control. Installation is simplified thanks to automatic features like the zoom, keystone correction and obstacle avoidance. The latter automatically adapts the image size to the available space on the wall, when there’s a photo or picture frame, for example.

With these new laser mini-projectors, Epson offers an attractive alternative to the TV and is back in the race against competing compact projectors such as the Xgimi MoGo and Xgimi Horizon. With their elegant design, ease of use and long-lasting laser light source, these new Epson projectors look promising to transform almost any space into an impromptu cinema.
Available to preorder on Son-Vidéo.com at €799 for the Epson EF-21 and €999 for the Epson EF-22, these new laser Epson projectors should be delivered in October.
