Every year, the IFA trade show in Berlin marks the start of a new school year for hi-fi and home theater enthusiasts. For this 2024 edition, Technics unveils its new SL-1300G turntable. It builds on the formula of the SL-1200GR2, while perfecting its anti-vibration design.

Technics SL-1300G vs SL-1200GR2: what are the differences?
Rumors were circulating back in the spring that Technics was preparing a new turntable. It’s now official: the Japanese manufacturer has unveiled the SL-1300G. This model uses the same coreless direct-drive motor as the Technics SL-1200GR2, to guarantee greater rotational stability. The Technics SL-1300G turntable also features the Delta-Sigma Drive system, or ΔΣ-Drive, which eliminates internal vibrations.

In addition to the proven technologies of the SL-1200GR2, the Technics SL-1300G boasts a number of innovations of its own. The chassis has been redesigned for greater rigidity. Reinforcements have been added between the motor and the tonearm, giving the Technics SL-1300G turntable better vibration absorption than the SL-1200G. In addition, the new platter is made from an alloy of brass and aluminum, to which a layer of damping rubber has been added on the back. This material also eliminates unwanted resonance, offering a more precise musical reproduction.

With its new turntable, Technics promises to push the limits of the record player. The Japanese specialist manages to reduce vibrations even further to guarantee a detailed listening experience. The Technics SL-1300G turntable will be available shortly on Son-Vidéo.com at €2,999.
