A must-attend event for hi-fi and home theater enthusiasts, the Paris Audio Video Show is the highlight of autumn. The 2024 edition, which ran until Sunday, October 27, featured a host of new releases, including turntables. Audio-Technica, Pro-Ject, Argon Audio, Technics, Goldring and Yamaha presented their latest innovations to visitors.

Audio-Technica

Our visit of PAVS 2024 kicked off with something new from Audio-Technica. The brand presented its AT-LP70XBT turntable to visitors. Equipped with a Bluetooth transmitter supporting the aptX Adaptive codec, this fully automatic model also incorporates a switchable phono preamp. The Audio-Technica AT-LP70XBT has a straight aluminum tonearm to which an AT-VM95C cartridge is soldered. However, the turntable remains upgradeable, as the diamond can be replaced by any model in the VM95 range, offering music lovers a wide choice.

Argon Audio

Our discovery of the Paris Audio Video Show 2024 alleys continued with two new products from Danish manufacturer Argon Audio. The brand displayed the Argon Audio TT MK2 and TT-3 Plus turntables at its stand. These are two manual, belt-driven models featuring an RIAA preamplifier stage. The TT MK2 turntable is equipped with an Audio-Technica AT3600L cartridge, while the Argon Audio TT-3 Plus features the famous Ortofon 2M Red model. The latter also inherits the carbon fiber tonearm and ATS anti-resonance technology of the brand’s top-of-the-range TT-4 model.

Technics

At PAVS 2024, Technics’ stand was one of the places that vinyl enthusiasts flocked to the most, because this is where they could discover the new Technics SL-1300G. This direct-drive model catches the eye with its brass platter. The Japanese specialist has further reduced vibrations to guarantee a detailed listening experience, thanks to the integration of a new chassis with a completely new design.

Pro-Ject

Once again this year, Pro-Ject’s stand was packed with interesting devices! At the Paris Audio Video Show, the Austrian brand presented the new turntables in its T1 EVO range, as well as the Pro-Ject Debut Carbon EVO II and Pro-Ject Debut Pro B models. The latter is a high-end turntable with a balanced mini-XLR output. Founded in 1991, the manufacturer has become a reference in turntable design. Optimized and daring, the new generations presented at PAVS 2024 benefit from Pro-Ject’s expertise.

Yamaha

Yamaha’s huge stand featured a turntable that had record-player fans talking! The Japanese manufacturer unveiled a limited edition of the MusicCast VINYL 500, a collaboration with JISBAR to celebrate the brand’s 70th anniversary in the world of hi-fi. The French artist hand-customized 70 Yamaha MusicCast VINYL 500 turntables, each signed and numbered. This turntable, featuring the multi-room MusicCast protocol, is compatible with Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and AirPlay 2, as well as Qobuz, Deezer, Spotify, Tidal and Amazon Music.
