To protect these components, a soft pouch is supplied.

The Meze Boom Mic includes a double mini-jack adapter and a carrying pouch for optimum connection and protection.

Introducing the Meze Boom Mic

If your headphones is equipped with a dual 3.5mm input on the earpieces, the Meze Boom Mic can be installed. This is a real highlight for users wishing to use their hi-fi headphones for communications, transforming the headphones into a versatile tool for video conferencing, gaming or livestreaming. It features a dual 3.5mm mini-jack input and a 3.5mm plug at the end, as well a mute button and a textured volume control.

The Meze Boom Mic turns any hi-fi headphones with dual 3.5mm connectors into a versatile tool with volume control and an integrated mute function.

Omnidirectional microphone

The Meze Boom Mic features an omnidirectional microphone, capable of picking up sound evenly in all directions. It has a sensitivity of -44 (±3) dB and a frequency response of 100Hz to 10kHz. This guarantees clear voice pick-up, even if you move your head or if the microphone is not positioned directly in front of your mouth. This type of microphone is ideal for video conferencing, gaming, streaming or any other use requiring perfect, uninterrupted vocal communication.

The Meze Boom Mic’s omnidirectional microphone ensures optimum voice pickup, providing clear communication for gaming or video conferencing.

How to connect the Meze Boom Mic

The Meze Boom Mic connects easily to headphones equipped with a dual 3.5mm mini-jack connector such as the Meze 99 Classics, but also the Meze 99 Neo, Meze 109 Pro and Meze Liric 2nd generation for the Romanian brand, but also models from different manufacturers like the FiiO FT5, HiFiMAN Ananda Stealth Magnet, Sivga Luan and many others.

Although the 2.5m cable is a little long for portable use with a laptop or phone, it’s still ideal for a sedentary configuration. At the end, the 3.5mm mini-jack plug enables connection to a wide range of devices: smartphones, computers, game consoles, tablets… The included mini-jack to dual mini-jack adapter lets you connect the headphones and the microphone separately to devices with separate audio and microphone ports. This type of connection is particularly useful when using an audio DAC like the Audioquest DragonFly Red, for example, which has no microphone input. In this case, you need to add it to the PC you’re using.

Using the Meze Boom Mic is intuitive: simply connect it to your headphones and device, and it’s ready for immediate use. The cable also features integrated controls with a mute button for quick mute of the microphone, handy for gaming sessions or business calls. It’s also possible to adjust the volume in the blink of an eye with the thumbwheel. Its textured surface makes it easy to use, and its non-infinite scroll lets you know whether you’re at maximum or minimum volume.

The mute button makes it easy to mute the microphone, while the volume control knob allows you to easily adjust the volume.

High-quality build

The Boom Mic boasts excellent build quality, ensuring a perfect match with headphones featuring dual 3.5mm connectors (CTIA/OMTP). It is made from high-quality, durable materials, including the casing surrounding the microphone, made from CNC-milled, laser-engraved aluminum. The remote control also benefits from a synthetic leather coating that promises good scratch resistance. This guarantees a long lifespan, even with regular use. The cable has a sheath that appears to be robust and wear-resistant, while remaining flexible for optimum comfort.
