Klipsch Heritage: a musical heritage
Klipsch is one of the few manufacturers capable of developing speakers that stand the test of time and appeal to all generations. Its Heritage range brilliantly embodies this philosophy, with legendary models with names steeped in history: Klipschorn, La Scala, Cornwall and Heresy. They carry on the legacy of the first speakers developed by Paul W. Klipsch, like the Klipschorn released in 1946 and whose 6th generation, perfected over the decades, is still in the brand’s catalog today. The Klipsch Cornwall IV and Klipsch La Scala AL5 speakers follow in this tradition, embodying the latest generation of the legendary models launched in 1959 and 1963 respectively.
Klipsch Cornwall IV: new cherry wood finish
The Klipsch Cornwall IV speaker is now available in a beautiful cherry wood finish, in addition to the black and walnut versions still in the catalog. The first generation Klipsch Cornwall was conceived as an alternative to the Klipsch Heresy, originally designed to be used as a center channel between two Klipschorns. When Klipsch suspended production in 1990, the enthusiasm of the brand’s fans continued unabated, with a wave of letters and a petition calling for its return. In 2006, their call was heard with the rebirth of the Klipsch Cornwall III. This revisited model features a 1″ compression tweeter and a 1.75″ midrange, both equipped with titanium diaphragms and mounted in horns, as well as an impressive 15″ woofer with a composite fiber cone.

The Klipsch Cornwall IV speaker takes the principles of this flagship model and enhances them with a new midrange unit mounted in a completely redesigned horn. The front-mounted Tractrix ports have also been improved for deeper bass.
Klipsch La Scala AL5: new dark walnut finish
The Klipsch La Scala AL5 also gets a facelift, with a new dark walnut finish to complement the light walnut and black models. Launched in 1963, the original Klipsch La Scala was originally designed for the performing arts. Inspired by the legendary Klipschorn, it adopts a folded horn design that guarantees outstanding acoustic performance, as well as very high sound levels from the very first watts injected. A real asset at a time when amplifiers only delivered a few watts. The candidate for governor of Arkansas, Winthrop Rockefeller, would later use this speaker for his public address system. Its unrivaled acoustic performance would later earn it a place in audiophile circles.

The AL5 version modernizes the Klipsch La Scala while remaining true to its original DNA. It incorporates a new tweeter with a neodymium magnet, polyimide dome, compression chamber and Tractrix horn. To optimize sensitivity and thus increase the sound level, a very large driver (15″) is housed in a folded horn. Finally, a midrange driver is also mounted in its own horn.
With these new finishes, Klipsch confirms its talent for combining tradition and modernity. Faithful to their legendary heritage while adapting to contemporary tastes, these speakers embody the very essence of the Heritage range: a unique marriage of exceptional performance and timeless design, designed to appeal to music lovers past, present and future.
