Au cours des années, la sphère est devenue emblématique de nombreuses séries d’enceintes Cabasse. En effet, cette forme se retrouve sur les enceintes satellites Cabasse Alcyone 3, Cabasse Eole 4 et Cabasse iO3, ainsi qu’avec les enceintes compactes Cabasse Riga 2 et Cabasse Baltic 5. Cette géométrie est aussi intimement liée à la gamme d’enceintes connectées Cabasse The Pearl. La nouvelle Cabasse The Pearl Myuki reprend ainsi cette forme sphérique tout en aplatissant la base pour maximiser sa stabilité et en délaisser le haut-parleur coaxial.
Dès la première prise en main, l’enceinte Cabasse The Pearl Myuki fait inévitablement penser à sa concurrente française : la Devialet Mania. Elle partage avec cette dernière la même forme sphérique et les haut-parleurs sur les côtés. La Cabasse transmet cependant une impression de plus haute qualité grâce à un assemblage digne d’une pièce d’orfèvre. Proposée en noir ou en blanc avec des enjoliveurs et des détails chromés, elle délaisse la finition laquée des précédents modèles au profit d’un revêtement mat limitant les traces de doigts et les rayures, ce qui est un véritable atout pour une enceinte portable souvent manipulée.
With a diameter of just 18cm, the Pearl Myuki is also much more compact than previous The Pearl spheres. However, with a weight of 2.1kg, it is not the lightest in its category, and is almost on a par with the Devialet Mania (2.3kg). However, portability is facilitated by a discreet, ergonomic handle integrated into the rear of the unit. This makes it easy to move the speaker from one room of the house to another, or into the garden. It is much more comfortable to use than the external handle of the Devialet Mania, whose plastic strap is too narrow for long distances.

On the top, the Cabasse Myuki speaker integrates six controls for quickly starting and pausing music playback, selecting the source, adjusting the volume, activating Bluetooth pairing, and switching the speaker on and off. Although tactile, these buttons require a firm press for the command to be carried out correctly. The LED indicator under each key and the haptic vibration feedback confirm that each command has been taken into account.
Acoustic design
Ce n’est pas la première fois que le fabricant tricolore s’adonne à la conception d’une enceinte portable puisque la marque avait déjà fait ses débuts avec la Cabasse Swell. Cabasse se veut encore plus ambitieux en dotant la Myuki d’un équipage acoustique digne de ses meilleures enceintes connectées résidentielles, en particulier sa principale rivale, la Devialet Mania. Elle intègre ainsi un haut-parleur large bande de 4,5 cm de diamètre en façade. Ce modèle breveté baptisé Dom 45 est spécifiquement conçu pour la Myuki afin d’offrir une reproduction claire et précise sur un large spectre. Il s’associe à deux haut-parleurs de grave de 12 cm dont la disposition sur les côtés et l’important débattement rappellent les enceintes Devialet. Leur membrane à structure alvéolée particulièrement rigide avec une disposition en Push Pull permet d’obtenir des basses puissantes et fermes dans un très faible volume de charge.
To power all this, the Cabasse The Pearl Myuki speaker integrates three amplifier modules. The total power output is 141 watts, 65 watts of which are dedicated to the tweeter and 38 watts to each of the two woofers. With a maximum sound volume of 99 dB when used on its own, the Cabasse The Pearl Myuki effectively sets the mood, even in a large living room or outdoors. Thanks to its multi-room compatibility, a second The Pearl Myuki can be added for stereo sound, with peak levels of up to 109 dB.
Audio optimization
Each amplifier module in the Cabasse The Pearl Myuki speaker is ideally calibrated and developed to get the most out of the associated driver. Cabasse also uses its proprietary DFE technology, which relies on an artificial intelligence algorithm to analyze and adjust dynamics in real time. With several levels, it promises to reproduce the full richness of recordings at both high and low volume. This Cabasse portable speaker also features a microphone for CRCS calibration, to adjust the reproduction to suit the listening room. To fine-tune the settings, you can use the mobile app to define the position of the speaker and the listener in the room, adjust the bass and treble levels, and set a lower or higher tone.
WiFi and Bluetooth
Connected to the Internet via WiFi or Ethernet, the Cabasse Myuki features the same network functions as the rest of The Pearl range. It can therefore access numerous streaming services such as Deezer, Napster, Qobuz, Spotify and Tidal, web radios via vTuner, as well as tracks shared on the local network via DLNA. The internal DAC supports the majority of audio formats, including WAV, MP3, AAC, WMA, AIFF, FLAC, ALAC and Ogg up to 32-bit/768kHz. DSD files are also supported up to DSD128. Streaming from a mobile device, tablet or Apple computer is also possible via AirPlay 2.
Outside the perimeter covered by the home network, the Cabasse The Pearl Myuki speaker can switch to Bluetooth mode to continue playing music. However, we regret the absence of HD codecs such as aptX to limit audio compression. Despite this, Bluetooth listening remains very pleasant and balanced, although a little less detailed and clear than WiFi.
Connectors
The Cabasse The Pearl Myuki speaker also lets you enjoy your wired sources. It features two audio inputs: an optical digital input and a 3.5mm mini-jack analog input. This makes it possible to connect a CD player, a pre-amplified turntable, an external DAC and even a TV. We regret, however, the absence of a USB port for recharging a mobile device or taking advantage of USB Audio with a computer or smartphone.
Multi-room
The Cabasse The Pearl Myuki speaker is compatible with high resolution multi-room streaming. Consequently, it can be combined with one or several Pearl speakers to broadcast music in several areas simultaneously. In addition, the wired inputs can be used for a multi-room setup. The sound of sources connected via the optical or mini-jack connectors can be transferred simultaneously to one or more Cabasse speakers installed in different rooms of the home. Note, however, that multi-room listening is only possible when the speaker is connected to the local network via WiFi or Ethernet.
Control app
In addition to its touch sensitive interface, the Cabasse The Pearl Myuki can also be controlled from the Cabasse mobile app. Available free of charge on iOS and Android, it allows you to select the source, adjust the volume, create multi-room groups and adjust numerous settings: acoustic calibration, speaker position, audio equalizer, etc. The mobile app also provides access to compatible streaming services, music shared over the local network and web radios. Finally, voice control is possible by associating the Pearl Myuki with a speaker equipped with Google Assistant. However, neither the mobile app nor the voice assistant are functional when the speaker is used in Bluetooth mode.
12h of autonomy
Utilisation nomade oblige, l’enceinte Cabasse The Pearl Myuki intègre sa propre batterie offrant jusqu’à 12 heures d’autonomie. De quoi profiter de la musique toute la journée au bord de la piscine ou dans le jardin. On veillera cependant à la préserver des éclaboussures et des salissures, Cabasse ne communiquant sur aucune certification d’étanchéité (normes IP). À la maison, l’enceinte peut être utilisée sur batterie ou branchée sur secteur grâce à l’adaptateur USB-C inclus. Toutefois, l’ajout d’un socle dédié, similaire à celui de la Sonos Move 2, aurait été un atout pour simplifier la recharge.
Listening conditions
The Cabasse The Pearl Myuki can be used with Bluetooth right out of the box. All you have to do is pair it with the source to start streaming. To take full advantage of its features, you need to connect it to the WiFi or Ethernet network. A quick configuration is then required from the Cabasse mobile app. This will enable you to associate the speaker with the WiFi network, rename it if necessary, and apply the latest update. Once you’ve completed these steps, which take just a few minutes, you’ll be able to customize your listening experience using the equalizer, and add your different streaming services.
Listening impressions
L’enceinte connectée Cabasse The Pearl Myuki fait preuve d’une très grande clarté pour reproduire la musique avec transparence. Elle met efficacement en avant la voix du chanteur sur le titre Island in the Sun de Weezer. Elle est intelligible, limpide et d’une très grande clarté. La scène mériterait tout de même de gagner en ampleur pour faire honneur à la guitare électrique qui se trouve légèrement en retrait. L’ensemble reste cependant naturel et détaillé, avec un très bel impact sur les percussions.
Sans atteindre les 30 Hz revendiqués par la marque, l’enceinte Cabasse The Pearl Myuki révèle un caractère bien affirmé dans le grave. Sur le dernier album Ask That God du duo Empire of the Sun, les titres électro s’enchaînent avec une très belle énergie. Les basses fermes et percutantes donnent du corps et de la dynamique aux morceaux, tout en restant bien contrôlées. L’auditeur peut cependant percevoir un manque d’extension et de liberté lorsque l’enceinte est placée trop proche de lui. On veillera donc à l’éloigner pour renforcer la profondeur d’écoute et profiter d’un rendu plus homogène.
L’un des atouts majeurs de l’enceinte Cabasse The Pearl Myuki réside dans sa capacité à limiter au maximum les effets de directivité. Bien que l’écoute la plus précise se matérialise naturellement face au haut-parleur médium/aigu central, l’enceinte parvient à conserver une restitution fidèle et détaillée sur un angle de 180° autour d’elle. Ainsi, tous les auditeurs présents dans la pièce ou sur la terrasse bénéficient de la même expérience d’écoute.

Cabasse Myuki vs Devialet Mania
Commercialisée à 990 €, la Devialet Mania offre le même format et design. Elle propose des fonctionnalités similaires, avec une utilisation en WiFi et en Bluetooth. Sa certification IPX4 permet de l’utiliser en toute sécurité au bord de la piscine ou dans une salle de bain. À l’écoute, la Devialet Mania offre une scène un peu plus ouverte, mais se révèle moins bien équilibrée, avec une signature très orientée sur le grave. Elle cogne fort, parfois trop suivant les préférences de l’utilisateur. La Cabasse Myuki se révèle ainsi plus neutre et polyvalente.
