At High End Munich 2025, Elipson unveiled a series of eagerly awaited new products. Between revamping its legendary ranges and launching new references, the French manufacturer asserts its sonic identity while meeting the new expectations of contemporary audiophiles. Here’s an overview of the models that were on show.

Elipson Legacy II: a completely redesigned range

At the heart of the Elipson stand at Munich High End 2025, the new Elipson Legacy II range was unveiled to the public for the first time. The brand’s flagship, this direct heir to the Legacy line launched in 2020, which we were particularly enthusiastic about (read the Elipson Legacy 3210 review and Elipson Legacy 3230 review), aims to take sound performance to an even higher level, while asserting a strong visual identity.

The new Elipson Legacy II range embodies the combination of the brand’s iconic design and revisited high-end acoustics.

On demo at the show, the Legacy II 3220 fully embodies the spirit of this new generation of Elipson speakers. This imposing 2.5-way floorstanding speaker is the central model of the series, featuring a revised design and enhanced acoustic performance. Its modernized aesthetic retains the sculptural elegance characteristic of the range, while incorporating structural optimizations designed to improve damping and cabinet neutrality. On the technical front, the Legacy II 3220 adopts two 6.5″ aluminum midbass drivers with ceramic-coated cones to deliver a dynamic, tight and natural reproduction of the bass and low midrange. The highs are handled by an AMT (Air Motion Transformer) tweeter, a signature of the Legacy series, renowned for its ability to reproduce the slightest micro-details with extreme speed and remarkable transparency. With a power handling capacity of 150 watts RMS, this speaker boasts an extended bandwidth from 35Hz to 30kHz, offering a full and detailed response across the entire spectrum.

On demo at Munich, the new Elipson Legacy II 3220 speaker impressed with its spacious soundstage, tonal precision and highly musical reproduction.

Planet L Performance: the spherical icon takes on a new dimension

It’s hard to talk about Elipson without mentioning its spherical speakers, which over the years have become a symbol of French design. Launched in the 2010s, the Elipson Planet L is directly inspired by the truly unique 1960s models that marked the manufacturer’s history. For this 2025 edition of Munich’s High End, the French manufacturer had the latest generation of this iconic model on display: the Elipson Planet L Performance.

Unchanged design, reinvented acoustics: the new Elipson Planet L Performance combine iconic aesthetics with high performance.

Recently tested on the blog, this new version retains the iconic 30cm diameter spherical format that made Planet L so successful. But beneath its familiar appearance, everything has been redesigned to take acoustic performance to the next level. The coaxial driver has been completely reworked to improve directivity, phase and tonal coherence, delivering a more stable and natural stereo image. Its new, more powerful magnetic motor guarantees better power handling, with a capacity increased to 100 watts compared to 60W for the previous generation. The internal crossover has also been thoroughly revised, incorporating high-quality audiophile components to refine frequency separation and reduce all forms of distortion. The result is immediately perceptible: more legible mids, smoother highs and better articulated bass.

Elipson Prestige Facet II: a refined evolution of the flagship range

Since its launch in 2016, the Prestige Facet range has become one of the French manufacturer’s most popular. Combining solid performance, reasonable prices and minimalist aesthetics, it has won over hi-fi and home theater enthusiasts alike. The new Prestige Facet II range continues in this vein, with significant improvements on all fronts.

In appearance, the new range retains the main elements of the original design, with drivers surrounded by a faceted ring to minimise diffraction. But the materials are of higher quality, the finishes finer, and the silhouette subtly modernized. The most striking evolution is to be found inside: new drivers, redesigned cabinets and more precise crossovers. The soft-dome tweeter remains at the heart of the system, still associated with the famous elastomer ring that limits vibrations. The woofers, meanwhile, now have a lighter, more rigid composite cone, for greater responsiveness in the low end of the spectrum. The range includes three floorstanding speakers, two bookshelves, two center speakers, an Atmos reflecting speaker and an LCR cinema speaker. They should be available from Son-Vidéo.com by the end of the month.

Elipson Horus 6B Active BT: a modern, connected speaker

The last Elipson product to be unveiled at Munich was the Horus 6B Active BT speaker, which combines the best of the brand’s traditional hi-fi expertise with today’s connected uses. Part of the recent Horus series, launched in 2024, this active version of the Elipson Horus 6B is aimed at users seeking simplicity without sacrificing quality. No need for external amplifiers or DACs: everything is integrated into the speaker.

The range of connectors is comprehensive, with an analog RCA input, an optical and coaxial input, a phono input for a turntable, a USB-C port for connecting a computer, an HDMI ARC input for the TV and, above all, Bluetooth aptX HD connectivity for CD-quality wireless streaming. The built-in amplification delivers a comfortable amount of power, enough to fill a medium-sized room with ease. Acoustically, the Horus 6B Active BT uses the same transducers as the passive version, with a 5″ woofer and a 1″ fabric dome tweeter.

By revisiting its legendary models while introducing more modern, connected solutions, the French brand demonstrates its determination to move with the times without denying its identity. A measured approach, between continuity and renewal, that caught the attention of visitors to High End Munich 2025.
