The High End Munich 2025 show saw many major announcements, notably from the Danish brand DALI, who revealed a new flagship subwoofer, the V-16F. This 16-inch (40cm), 1,500W RMS and 53kg sub promises exceptional performance for both music and home theater enthusiasts.
A 16” driver for extremely low bass
Initially renowned for its hi-fi and home theater speakers, Dali also benefits from expertise in subwoofer design. Its range spans from the compact Dali Sub C8-D model with its 7.8” driver to the Dali Sub K-14 with a 13.7” driver. With the new Dali V-16F, the manufacturer manages to push performance even further with a custom 16-inch (406mm) driver. The latter has been geometrically engineered to combine high excursion, excellent power handling and precise movement. It features a Constant Surface Surround that can follow a linear excursion of ±16mm and a maximal excursion of 70mm. This impressive range ensures sufficient air movement to generate high sound pressure levels without distortion.
To move this driver effectively, the Danish manufacturer has developed a specific magnetic architecture, using rare materials and an optimized field structure. The magnetic flux is distributed symmetrically across a triple-layer coil with glass fiber support to avoid eddy currents. The result is tight, fast and very well controlled bass.

Exceptional amplification
To efficiently power this demanding driver, DALI had given the Dali V-16F subwoofer a class D amplifier delivering 1,500 watts of continuous power with a peak of up to 2,500 watts. This power doesn’t just shake walls, it also ensures perfect signal control, even during the most dynamic soundtracks or symphonic compositions.
This amplifier module is designed to maintain strict control over the cone, even at high levels. Particular attention has been paid to thermal regulation and management of current peaks, to guarantee long-lasting, stable performance, whatever the acoustic pressure.

An abyssal frequency response
The DALI V-16F subwoofer has a frequency response that goes down to 19Hz, with bass that is still perceptible below this threshold. This extension is made possible by an optimized bass-reflex enclosure with four Continuous Flare ports tuned at 18Hz. The entire system is housed in a voluminous 90-liter cabinet, reinforced to minimize unwanted resonance. The cabinet is made of thick MDF and has internal reinforcements at key points to eliminate undesirable vibrations.

The Dali V-16F marks a significant milestone for the Danish brand by providing a solution that can rival the biggest names in the subwoofer market, such as SVS and REL Acoustics. Equipped with a 16-inch driver, an amplification of 1,500W (2,500W peak) and a frequency response that can go as low as 19Hz, this sub promises exceptional performance for both audiophiles and home theater enthusiasts. It will be available from July at a price of €4,999.
