During HIGH END Munich 2025, Meze Audio unveiled the new flagship of its audiophile headphones range: the Meze 105 SILVA. This open-back model with dynamic transducers enriches the already acclaimed collection of the Romanian brand, with a clear promise: to offer the listener natural, emotional sound reproduction, while combining timeless design and cutting-edge technology.

A proud heritage

The Meze 105 SILVA shares the refined aesthetics of its predecessors, combining clean lines, high-end materials and attention to artisanal detail. The brand’s signature solid walnut shells are reinforced with a high-resistance PC-ABS polymer, ensuring lightness, strength and durability. The self-adjusting steel headband, already used on the Meze 105 AER, ensures a perfect fit for all users. Each part can be replaced or repaired, guaranteeing product longevity and a reduced ecological footprint.

The Meze 105 SILVA headphones continue the iconic style of previous models, with sumptuous wooden ear cups and a double-arch headband for optimum comfort.

A dynamic transducer designed for emotion

At the heart of the Meze 105 SILVA is a new 50mm dynamic transducer. It uses a cellulose composite membrane, covered with a thin layer of titanium. This choice of material combines the lightness and responsiveness of cellulose with the rigidity of titanium. The result is a wide frequency response and excellent transient response. The diaphragm is firmly held in place by a semi-crystalline polymer torus, also coated with titanium, guaranteeing high mechanical stability. A copper-zinc alloy central stabilizer completes this precise structure, effectively reducing harmonic distortion. The objective is clear: to reproduce every nuance of the recording with striking naturalness, particularly in the midrange, where the clarity of voices, the richness of strings and the subtlety of harmonic textures reside.

With their new 50mm dynamic transducer with composite diaphragm, the Meze 105 Silva headphones promise a warm reproduction, with a very rich midrange.

A sound signature that’s faithful to Meze’s DNA

The 105 SILVA are open-back headphones with a vast, airy soundstage. They take the analytical qualities of the 109 PRO and inject them with the warmth, roundness and acoustic versatility of the 105 AER. The result is a smooth, generous and immersive sound signature, designed to appeal to both demanding audiophiles and music lovers looking for expressive and emotionally compelling headphones.

The Meze 105 SILVA also boast excellent technical specifications, ensuring their versatility and compatibility with a wide range of amplifiers. With an impedance of 42 ohms, a sensitivity of 112 dB SPL (at 1kHz for 1 mW), and a frequency response from 5Hz to 30kHz, these headphones are equally at home with a DAP or a high-end headphone amplifier.

Weighing just 354 grams, they remain well balanced on the head, without excessive pressure, even during long listening sessions. Comfort is at the heart of their design, with generous ear pads, a well-distributed structure and an open architecture that lets the ears breathe.

Lightweight, with thick earpads and a wide headband, the Meze 105 Silva headphones can be worn comfortably for many hours.

With the 105 SILVA, Meze Audio enriches its range with an open-back model that is both faithful to its DNA and resolutely focused on innovation. Combining meticulous design, luxurious materials and a balanced sound signature, these headphones are a serious contender for lovers of natural, detailed sound.

Their technical performance, comfort and durable construction make them an appropriate choice for audiophiles looking for dynamic high-end headphones that are as pleasant to listen to as they are to wear. Pending its official availability and price, the 105 SILVA confirms Meze’s expertise in the art of designing headphones where form serves sound to the full.
