With the launch of the Premium Sub range, Elipson renews its range of active subwoofers, replacing the previous Prestige Facet series. This new generation, comprising the Premium Sub 10, Sub 12 and Sub 15 models, is designed to integrate naturally into any hi-fi or home theater system, with a clear promise: to offer powerful, precise and controlled bass, adapted to every configuration. How does this new series stand out, and what are the uses of each model?

Elipson Premium Sub: precise, powerful bass without distortion

Controlled acoustic design

All Premium Sub models share the same technical architecture, based on a front-firing bass-reflex cabinet with an internal laminar baffle. This device, placed inside the port, stabilizes the airflow produced by the cone’s movements, reducing turbulence and limiting distortion. The result: cleaner, more linear bass reproduction, even at high volume.

The Elipson Premium SUB 15 subwoofer uses a front-firing laminar bass-reflex design to improve air circulation, limit turbulence and enable easy placement close to a wall, while guaranteeing uniform bass.

Each subwoofer is fitted with a fiberglass cone driver, a material chosen for its rigidity and lightness. The diameter of this driver varies according to model, from 10″ on the Sub 10 to 15″ on the Sub 15. Integrated class D amplification for optimum efficiency accompanies this move upmarket, with 300W for the Sub 10, 500W for the Sub 12 and 650W for the Sub 15. The result is an effortless, dynamic sound reproduction, even in large rooms.

Extended frequency response and comprehensive settings

The Premium Sub range offers a bass response starting at 27Hz for the Sub 10, 22Hz for the Sub 12, and reaching 19Hz for the Sub 15, always measured at ±3 dB. This extension makes it possible to faithfully reproduce the deepest low frequencies, whether it’s the sound effects of a film or the fundamentals of an orchestra.

To facilitate integration in all types of installations, the subwoofers feature precise settings: variable cutoff frequency, phase switch (0° / 180°), subsonic filter to protect the driver from unnecessary frequencies, and DSP Boost to boost bass around 30Hz (or 28Hz or 26Hz depending on the model). Connectors include a stereo line input, an LFE input (for the dedicated bass channel of an AV receiver) and a stereo line output for daisy-chaining several subwoofers if required. All models also feature an automatic standby mode.

Three models for three listening profiles

The Premium Sub 10 is the most compact of the series. It’s designed to fit easily into medium-sized rooms, while providing clean, balanced bass reinforcement. Its discreet format and low weight mean it can be installed without constraint in a living room or office.

The Premium Sub 12 occupies an intermediate position in the range. It offers an interesting compromise between power, depth and precision. This model is aimed at discerning users who want to enjoy full, responsive bass, for both music and films, in medium to large rooms.

Finally, the Premium Sub 15 is the flagship model of this series. Its 15-inch driver, high power output and solid cabinet make it a very high-capacity subwoofer. It is designed for ambitious installations, and is capable of providing sound for large spaces with exacting requirements. It will suit both high-end home theater systems and the most immersive stereo listening, guaranteeing exceptional bass levels, without distortion or projection.
