Hi-fi sound in a compact format
The KEF Muo Bluetooth speaker doesn’t compromise on sound quality despite its reduced size. In fact, it incorporates a long-excursion “racetrack” driver, custom-designed to deliver deep, dynamic and controlled bass, while minimizing distortion and power consumption. This technical choice enables the KEF Muo speaker to accurately reproduce low frequencies.
Added to this is the exclusive Music Integrity Engine (MIE) technology, already present on the brand’s subwoofers and wireless hi-fi speakers, including the KEF LS60 Wireless II. This digital signal processing dynamically adapts sound reproduction to optimize bass and guarantee optimum clarity, whatever the volume.
Proof of the care taken in the acoustic design of the KEF Muo Bluetooth speaker, the brand called on designer Ross Lovegrove. The latter, whose first collaboration with the audio specialist dates back to 2005, notably designed the prestigious KEF Muon speakers. The grille of the KEF Muo portable speaker evokes the curves of this iconic model.
Bluetooth 5.4 and aptX Adaptive
For wireless streaming, the KEF Muo portable speaker features a Bluetooth 5.4 chip that supports the aptX Adaptive codec. This protocol guarantees a stable, low-latency connection and high-fidelity audio reproduction at up to 24-bit/48kHz. This HD codec adapts to transmission conditions to deliver a smooth experience, even in saturated environments.
What’s more, the KEF Muo Bluetooth speaker supports fast Google Fast Pair and Microsoft Swift Pair connections, making it easy to pair with compatible smartphones, tablets and computers. Wireless daisy-chaining is also possible via True Wireless Stereo technology or Bluetooth Auracast.
KEF Muo: up to 24 hours of autonomy
Designed for both indoor and outdoor use, the KEF Muo has a battery life of 24 hours. A quick-charge function also offers three hours of autonomy after just fifteen minutes of recharging. Enough for a full day’s listening, whether at home, on the move or outdoors. The practical equalizer automatically adjusts the sound quality according to whether the speaker is positioned upright or lying down.
With its IP67 certification, the KEF Muo is water and dust resistant, so it’s ready to face rain, sand or splashes. Its operating temperature range, from -20°C to 45°C, enables it to adapt to all climates, from harsh winters to hot summers. The tone-on-tone carrying strap enhances the speaker’s portability, while its aluminum construction ensures lightness and durability.
Integrated USB DAC
In addition to its Bluetooth connectivity, the KEF Muo portable speaker adopts a USB DAC that supports HD audio files up to 24-bit/48kHz. In fact, the device’s USB-C input is used both for charging and for playing audio files. It can therefore be connected to a computer, for example.
In addition to music playback, the KEF Muo Bluetooth speaker can also handle calls thanks to its built-in microphone with echo and ambient noise reduction. As for the KEF Connect app, it provides access to the speaker’s settings for easy software updates.
