For over six decades, KEF has pursued a clear goal: to deliver uncompromising hi-fi sound with style and elegance. With the new KEF Coda W active speakers, the British brand reiterates its commitment by offering a modern all-in-one solution. Surprisingly, however, the British company has opted for a Bluetooth-only speaker rather than a Wi-Fi connection. This deserves some explanation.

A wireless speaker… without Wi-Fi
The KEF Coda W active speakers are an affordable solution in the brand’s catalog. Unlike the ultra-popular high-end KEF LSX 2 or KEF LS50 Wireless 2 models, the Coda Ws do not require a Wi-Fi connection, making them a more affordable entry into the brand’s universe, at €899 per pair. But this does not mean a decline in quality. With its new Coda W, KEF maintains its aesthetic and technical standards.
While the KEF Coda W does not include a Wi-Fi module, it is equipped with a Bluetooth chip that supports the aptX Adaptive and aptX Lossless high-definition codecs. These transmit signals up to 24-bit/48kHz and 16-bit/44.1kHz respectively, equivalent to CD quality.

KEF offers a pair of active speakers that are perfectly suited to the modern music lover. Advances in Bluetooth technology, which increasingly reduce signal compression, allow you to enjoy your HD audio files to the fullest when streaming. Simple, convenient, and high-quality, a Bluetooth connection is the ideal solution.
KEF Coda W: ambitious acoustic design
The KEF Coda W may not feature Wi-Fi, but they’re still in line with the British manufacturer’s exacting standards. One example is the integration of the brand’s signature Uni-Q technology. This 12th-generation, 5″ coaxial driver combines the midbass cone and the 1″ aluminum-dome tweeter in a single point source. This principle ensures that sound is evenly distributed throughout the room, reproducing a realistic, natural soundstage.

Each speaker incorporates a dedicated amplifier for the tweeter (30W) and midbass driver (70W), for a combined total power of 2 x 100W. KEF’s Music Integrity Engine digital processing has been optimized to guarantee a faithful, precise and coherent reproduction.
Comprehensive connectivity
The KEF Coda W speakers are also distinguished by their versatility, thanks to a rich array of connectors. They can be used with both analog and digital sources. The HDMI ARC, optical and USB-C inputs make it easy to connect the speakers to a TV, Blu-ray player or computer to create a desktop system, for example. They also feature a phono input for direct connection to a turntable.

A line-level RCA input is also available to connect a CD player and enjoy your disc collection. A subwoofer output lets you boost the bass by connecting a compatible KEF subwoofer, to easily create a 2.1 home theater system to enhance TV sound.
A contemporary, minimalist look
The KEF Coda W is designed to be simple to use. The main controls are accessible directly on the speaker’s top panel. What’s more, the KEF Connect app enables fully remote control for source selection, equalization settings, firmware updates and customization of listening parameters.
In terms of design, KEF’s new active speakers are simple. Their clean, unadorned rectangular silhouette gives them a modern yet timeless appearance. The speaker is available in four finishes: black, gray, green and blue to blend harmoniously into any interior.
