Once again this year, the Paris Audio Video Show highlighted the latest advances in home entertainment. Among the many exhibitors, Sony offered visitors two complementary experiences: a top-of-the-range TV designed to enhance all everyday content, and a projection room dedicated to cinema lovers. Two different approaches, but one objective: to offer guests a superior audiovisual immersion experience.

Bravia 8 II: a television designed for all uses

At Sony’s stand, the BRAVIA 8 II took pride of place. This TV uses QD-OLED technology, which delivers vivid colors, deep blacks and a particularly high level of contrast. It also stands out for its compatibility with the main market standards: IMAX Enhanced, Dolby Vision, Dolby Atmos and DTS:X. The goal is clear: to bring cinema-quality picture and sound directly into the living room.

The BRAVIA 8 II also features an original audio system. Vibrating actuators located behind the panel cause it to vibrate, diffusing sound across the screen in perfect synchronization with the image. This approach enhances immersion, particularly when watching films or series. Finally, the TV automatically adapts its settings when it detects a PS5 or PS5 Pro console. It then switches to Game mode, reducing latency and optimizing display fluidity, before automatically reverting to standard mode for other content.

Bravia Projector 7: at the heart of an immersive home theater experience

For visitors looking for a more enveloping experience, Sony presented a room dedicated to home theater, built around the new Bravia Projector 7. This native 4K projector delivers a bright, precise, high-contrast picture. It uses XR processing technology and offers HDMI 2.1 compatibility with a refresh rate of up to 120Hz. This configuration enables it to meet both cinema and gaming requirements.

The projector was installed with a multi-channel audio system developed in partnership with several French brands. Waterfall Elora Evo speakers (left, right and center) and HF2-250 subwoofers provided the sound. Amplification and acoustic processing were entrusted to Trinnov Altitude32 and Amplitude16 electronics, featuring WaveForming technology, renowned for its performance in room correction.

Enhanced 4K HDR and Dolby Atmos

The entire room was powered by R_volution sources, including the PlayerMini, PlayerOne 8K and PlayerPro 8K players, as well as a dedicated NAS server. Video processing was handled by MadVR Envy Core and Envy Extreme MK2 processors, renowned for their precise scaling and HDR management. This configuration illustrates a consistent approach to the entire broadcast chain, from content storage to final playback.

Summary

Sony presented two complementary spaces at PAVS 2025. The first showcased the BRAVIA 8 II television, designed to deliver high-quality images and immersive sound for everyday use, with a particular focus on gaming. The second invited visitors to discover a true home theater environment, incorporating laser projection, advanced video processing, and high-end sound reproduction. This dual approach allowed everyone to enjoy an audiovisual experience tailored to their needs and living space.
