Focal continues its ascent into the high-end world with the Diva Mezza Utopia active speakers. Presented at the Paris Audio Video Show 2025, these exceptional connected speakers take the Diva Utopia concept a step further, with a larger cabinet, even more ambitious amplification and larger woofers. The embodiment of “New Hi-Fi”, their ambition is to offer a high-end, ultra-connected and intuitive listening experience.
Uncompromising acoustic architecture
The Focal Diva Mezza Utopia connected hi-fi speaker has a 3-way design. It inherits the 1″ pure beryllium “M” profile inverted dome tweeter that made the Focal Grande Utopia so successful, and combines it with a 6.5″ “W” cone midbass driver and four 8″ woofers in a push-push configuration.
This architecture guarantees a powerful yet balanced sound reproduction: high frequencies unfold with finesse, the midrange retains all its richness and the bass gains in impact and articulation. The frequency response extends from 25Hz to 40kHz, enabling a full reproduction of the musical spectrum in spaces of up to 100m².
Naim amplification
Each Focal Diva Mezza Utopia speaker features 500-watt class AB amplification, distributed over three amplifiers dedicated to each register. Developed by Naim Audio, who selected all components with the utmost care, these amplifiers guarantee a faithful reproduction of the slightest musical nuances. This approach ensures good dynamics and sonic coherence, even at high volume.
State-of-the-art wireless connectivity
The Diva Mezza Utopia adopts the French manufacturer’s UWB (Ultra Wideband) technology, ensuring lossless, uncompressed transmission with imperceptible latency between the two speakers. This wireless connection operates at 96kHz/24-bit, and can reach 192kHz/24-bit via the included high-resolution cable. The system is based on the Naim Pulse Platform, which manages streaming, multi-room connectivity and compatibility with the main online music services.
An intuitive user experience
Designed for simplicity, the Focal Diva Mezza Utopia connected speaker can be controlled via a dedicated app, a remote control or a Google or Apple compatible voice assistant. As for streaming, there’s compatibility with Spotify, Qobuz and Tidal streaming services, as well as access to web radios and music shared over the local network. Streaming is also possible via AirPlay 2, Google Cast and Bluetooth (aptX Adaptive).
Also designed to enhance wired sources, the Focal Diva Mezza Utopia benefits from a wide range of connectors, with HDMI eARC, optical, RCA, USB and Ethernet inputs. Last but not least, the ADAPT function introduces an acoustic correction system that adjusts the reproduction depending on the characteristics of the room and the listener’s perception, for a personalized listening experience.
