Innovative drivers and tweeters
The Danish manufacturer hasn’t done things by halves for its new Dali Sonik series. Each model in this line incorporates a set of technologies taken directly from the brand’s top ranges, redesigned to deliver a frequency response, dynamism and tonal neutrality that make sense in both hi-fi and home theater listening contexts. At the heart of these speakers are Clarity Cone midbass drivers. This technology, already tried-and-tested in the ultimate Dali Epikore, uses natural fibers to deliver a perfect balance of rigidity, lightness and total absence of coloration. Their low loss ensures optimum attenuation of unwanted resonance, while the magnetic system benefits from SMC (Soft Magnetic Compound) technology to limit distortion and ensure a more accurate reproduction.

The Dali Sonik series also features an ultra-light 1.1″ dome tweeter. This larger-than-average diameter offers extended diffusion for a full soundstage and perfect perception of detail over a wide area. On the Dali Sonik 7 and Dali Sonik 9 floorstanding models, the manufacturer uses a hybrid tweeter, complementing the dome model with a 17 × 45mm planar-magnetic ribbon. The latter adds transparency and depth to the soundstage.

A minimalist, contemporary aesthetic
In addition to its acoustic performance, the Dali SONIK series adopts a typically Scandinavian design, with minimalist, contemporary lines. DALI has clearly sought to design speakers capable of blending naturally into any interior, without showy finishes or visual overload. The finishes offered (black, white, walnut and oak) are fully in keeping with this approach. The silhouettes are simple, the proportions balanced and each element seems to respond to a functional logic as much as an aesthetic one. The use of perfectly integrated magnetic grilles allows you to move in an instant from a very uncluttered aesthetic to a more technical presentation, highlighting the drivers. The aluminum plates surrounding the tweeter add a premium touch, while playing a functional role in dispersion control. On the floorstanding models, the presence of aluminum feet and adjustable spikes underlines DALI’s attention to detail.

A competitive range
As the successor to the DALI OBERON range, the new DALI SONIK series marks a significant evolution, in terms of both acoustic performance and design. Without denying the DNA that made its predecessors so successful, the brand pushes the cursor a little further, integrating technologies previously reserved for more premium series. This move upmarket is also accompanied by a clear focus on modernity and aesthetic integration. Despite these changes, DALI has managed to preserve one of the pillars of its success: particularly competitive value for money, positioning the SONIK series as an essential reference in the affordable hi-fi and home theater speaker segment.
