It’s finally here! First presented at Computex 2024 in Taipei, the Asus ProArt Display PA32KCX monitor has been a long time coming. The screen has generated a lot of interest among image creators, post-production studios and color-grading professionals, but it has only recently become available. Can this monitor really become a new benchmark for professional content creators, or is it primarily a technological showcase reserved for a very specific market elite?

A Mini LED IPS panel designed for demanding image creation
At the heart of this Asus ProArt Display PA32KCX is a 32-inch (81cm) IPS panel displaying 8K UHD resolution at 7680 x 4320 pixels. With a density of 275 pixels per inch, the display gains in finesse and precision, both for text and for the subtlest details of still or moving images. This very high resolution brings real working comfort for photographers, graphic designers and video editors handling highly detailed content, particularly in 4K or native 8K.
Mini LED technology and Quantum Dots play a central role here. The backlighting features 4,032 local dimming zones, each independently controlled. This architecture greatly reduces halo effects and improves perceived contrast, particularly in HDR or Dolby Vision scenes. Asus also announces a peak brightness of up to 1,200cd/m², with a sustained brightness of 1,000cd/m² across the entire panel. These values clearly position the monitor in the category of high-end professional displays capable of meeting the demands of mastering environments.
In terms of colorimetry, the IPS Mini LED panel boasts extensive support for professional color spaces. The monitor covers 100% sRGB, 99% Adobe RGB, 97% DCI-P3 and Rec. 2020. This versatility makes it compatible with a wide range of uses, from print photography to cinema or broadcast video production. Its true 10-bit color depth enables the display of over a billion colors, with fine gradations and a visible reduction in banding. All in all, this Asus ProArt Display PA32KCX is clearly intended for professional use, where visual fidelity takes precedence over all other criteria.
Integrated motorized calibration
One of the major differentiating features of the Asus ProArt Display PA32KCX professional monitor is its integrated calibration system. Asus has opted for a retractable motorized colorimeter, directly integrated into the screen’s chassis. This colorimeter enables automatic or manual calibration, without depending on an external device or the operating system in use. The user can launch a calibration on demand or program it via the OSD menu, for example outside working hours.
In addition, the monitor is compatible with Calman and Light Illusion ColourSpace CMS professional solutions. Calibration profiles are stored directly in the monitor’s internal memory thanks to hardware calibration, guaranteeing color consistency regardless of the computer connected to the screen. This approach is particularly relevant in multi-station or studio environments, where consistency of settings is essential. In this configuration, the Asus ProArt Display PA32KCX positions itself as a reliable long-term working tool, capable of maintaining studio-level color accuracy with a Delta E of less than 1.
📃 Note from the expert
A Delta E of less than 3 means that the difference between the color displayed on the screen and the theoretically correct color is so slight that it is imperceptible to the human eye. With a Delta E value of less than 1, this monitor therefore offers excellent colorimetric accuracy, suitable for professional uses such as photo editing, video color grading or preparing content for printing. Below this threshold, measured color differences exist on a technical level, but are no longer reliably distinguishable by even a trained observer.

Comprehensive connectivity designed for modern workflows
The Asus ProArt Display PA32KCX pro monitor’s connectors reflect its resolutely professional orientation. It integrates two Thunderbolt 4 ports, one of which is capable of delivering up to 96W to power a laptop. This connectivity not only simplifies cabling, but also enables multiple displays to be daisy-chained without the need for an external hub. The monitor also features two HDMI 2.1 inputs and one DisplayPort 2.1, ensuring compatibility with the latest workstations and graphics cards, including for an 8K signal at 60Hz.
A USB 3.2 Gen 2 hub is integrated, including several Type-A and Type-C ports for connecting storage devices or accessories. Asus also adds an automatic KVM switch, enabling you to control two separate machines with a single keyboard and mouse. This function is particularly useful in environments where, for example, an editing station and a laptop cohabit. In this respect, the Asus ProArt Display PA32KCX professional monitor is perfectly suited to complex workflows.
A monitor designed for the most discerning image professionals
With the Asus ProArt Display PA32KCX professional monitor, the Taiwanese manufacturer clearly demonstrates its determination to push the boundaries of creative displays. A Mini LED 8K IPS panel, high HDR brightness, extensive color space coverage, integrated motorized calibration and comprehensive connectivity make it a coherent solution, designed above all for professional content creation. More than just a screen, it’s a true professional display workstation, designed to fit into demanding production environments where visual fidelity and reliability are of the utmost importance.
