For almost twenty years, FiiO has established itself as an essential reference in portable and desktop hi-fi, building its reputation around DAPs, portable DACs and headphone amplifiers renowned for their excellent value for money. Now, at the start of 2026, the brand is taking another strategic step forward by expanding its playing field with the announcement of its very first tube stereo amplifier, the FiiO EA13, accompanied by a pair of ground-breaking passive speakers, the FiiO SV13.

FiiO EA13: the first tube amplifier

Although the specifications of the future FiiO EA13 amplifier are not yet known, we already know that it will mark a new turning point for the brand. This is FiiO’s very first stereo hi-fi amplifier. Unlike the majority of its products, which until now have been confined to the portable world and headphone listening, FiiO has opted for a hi-fi amplifier dedicated to powering passive speakers.

Moving away from the transistor-based operational modules developed for its headphones and DAC amplifiers, the FiiO EA13 relies on more traditional tube amplification. The input stage features two Sylvania PCF80 tubes to drive four EL34 power tubes. These are polarized in class A, promising to bring warmth, naturalness and harmonic richness to music. Power is rated at 2 x 28W into 4 and 8 ohms, which should provide adequate power for a pair of bookshelf speakers or small floorstanding speakers.

With its EL34 tubes and 2 x 28W of power into 4 and 8 ohms, the FiiO EA13 promises to power many pairs of speakers with warmth and naturalness.

The FiiO EA13 stereo amp’s retro styling is fully in keeping with the vintage aesthetic that the brand has been cultivating for some time on its latest creations. Exposed tubes protected by a metal grille, analog VU meters on the front panel and bold knobs give the unit great visual presence. This approach is in keeping with the design already seen on the FiiO K15 and FiiO K17 DACs, as well as the FiiO Snowsky Echo Mini DAP, which is clearly inspired by the golden age of cassette players.

In terms of connectors, the FiiO EA13 tube amp is entirely analog in design, with four RCA line inputs for connection to a CD player, network player, preamplified turntable or external DAC. Outputs include dedicated terminals for 4 and 8 ohm speakers, plus a headphone output for solo tube listening sessions.

In addition to its speaker outputs, the FiiO EA13 features its own headphone amplifier with a dedicated front-panel output, so you can enjoy the richness of the tubes without disturbing those around you.

FiiO SV13: the first hi-fi speakers

Alongside the FiiO EA13 amplifier, the Asian manufacturer has also lifted the veil on its very first pair of passive speakers, the FiiO SV13. Up until now, FiiO has mainly focused on active speakers, with a range of compact, connected desktop models such as the FiiO SP3, FiiO SP3 BT, FiiO SA1 and the more ambitious FiiO SP5.

With the SV13, the brand is making a major strategic move by tackling the traditional passive hi-fi speaker market for the first time. Much more ambitious in their design, the FiiO SV13 are large bookshelf speakers (400mm wide, 336mm deep and 680mm high) inspired by the aesthetics of 70s monitoring models such as the JBL 4313B. The relationship with JBL extends to the choice of drivers, with a three-way design and a large JBL woofer. Its flexible paper cone promises deep bass down to 35Hz. It joins a midrange driver and a central beryllium dome tweeter mounted in a horn for extended diffusion and transparent high-frequency reproduction up to 30kHz. Their 8-ohm load and high sensitivity of 92 dB should make them ideal for use with a wide range of stereo amplifiers, including the FiiO EA13.

The FiiO SV13 are the brand’s first passive hi-fi speakers, and adopt a three-way architecture with a large woofer and beryllium tweeter for a linear, balanced reproduction from 35Hz to 30kHz.

With the FiiO EA13 and FiiO SV13, the Chinese brand has reached a milestone in its history. For the first time, FiiO is no longer content to accompany an existing hi-fi system with DACs, network players or headphones: it now aims to offer the complete foundations of a true stereo system. The arrival of a stereo tube hi-fi amplifier combined with a first pair of large passive speakers reflects a clear desire to appeal to traditional hi-fi enthusiasts, while retaining the technological DNA and sense of value for money that have made the brand so successful. While certain elements (detailed specifications, pricing and availability) have yet to be specified, these two new products suggest a particularly promising potential. It remains to be seen whether the FiiO EA13 and FiiO SV13 duo will be able to turn this strategic ambition into a new benchmark in the home hi-fi market.
