At the last CES in Las Vegas, Hisense surprised visitors with a new range of portable Bluetooth speakers. The Chinese manufacturer, renowned for its televisions, projectors and soundbars, is expanding its audio range with three new models called FlexBoom, WeBoom and VoyageBoom. These speakers are designed to compete with well-established references such as JBL and Sony, with their robust design, versatile functions and outdoor-oriented approach. What are the advantages of this new range of Hisense Boom portable speakers?

Hisense Bluetooth speakers: three formats to cover every need
Hisense has structured its new Boom range of portable Bluetooth speakers around three complementary formats. The FlexBoom is the most compact, designed for everyday mobile listening. It features an IP67 rating, guaranteeing high resistance to dust and water, and a 20-hour battery life.
Its lightweight design, combined with a carrying strap, facilitates mobile use in all circumstances. It also incorporates microphones for hands-free calls, and offers listening modes adapted to different environments, such as the bathroom or sports activities.
The WeBoom is the intermediate model, designed for versatile indoor or outdoor use. It has the same IP67 waterproof rating and extends battery life to 24 hours. The Hisense WeBoom stands out with its mini-jack audio input, customisable LED lighting, and USB-C port for playing music or charging another device. It comes with a shoulder strap for easy transport.
Last but not least, the Hisense VoyageBoom is aimed at fans of powerful sound for large gatherings. More imposing, it focuses on enhanced bass thanks to a “bass boost” mode and visible passive radiators on the sides. It also features instrument inputs (microphone or guitar) and smartphone charging functions, targeting outdoor and party use.

Familiar design and modern functions
From an aesthetic point of view, Hisense fully embraces its inspiration: the FlexBoom, WeBoom and VoyageBoom portable speakers echo the visual design of JBL speakers. They feature a mesh fabric covering, silicone reinforcements and controls divided into two zones. The similarities are particularly striking with the JBL Charge 6, Xtreme 4 and Boombox 4, enabling Hisense to use a format already well identified by users.

In terms of features, all three speakers support Auracast, a Bluetooth technology that wirelessly synchronizes multiple compatible speakers with each other. The Hisense WeBoom and VoyageBoom models are also compatible with the Hisense Boom mobile app, which lets you adjust sound equalization via a band equalizer. Finally, all models integrate an FM tuner and USB-C ports for power or music playback.
Ambitions beyond party speakers
Until now, Hisense had only developed a few models of party speakers, such as the Hisense Party Storm and the Hisense Party Rocker One. Now, with these three models, the brand aims to meet a wide variety of needs: from personal listening sessions at home with the WeBoom, to lively outdoor parties with the VoyageBoom. The Chinese manufacturer is capitalizing on hybrid functions, combining audio, light effects and recharging, to appeal to music lovers looking for all-in-one solutions.

With its Boom range, Hisense has made a remarkable entry into the portable Bluetooth speaker market. Inspired by industry benchmarks, the FlexBoom, WeBoom and VoyageBoom speakers feature a robust design, generous battery life and versatile functions (USB charging, lighting, microphone/guitar input, FM radio, etc.). Compatibility with Auracast and the Boom App enhances the appeal of these models, designed for both home and outdoor use. What remains to be seen is price and availability, key factors in judging their competitiveness against the market’s big names.
