With CES 2026 just a few days away, several leaks have already revealed the broad outlines of LG’s next generation of OLED TVs. The G6 and W6 models are expected to debut a new “Hyper Radiant” panel, promising a significant gain in brightness and display precision.

OLED under pressure from mini RGB LEDs
The high-end TV market is more competetive than ever. While OLED technology continues to evolve, with ever-slimmer designs and perfect contrast, it now has to compete with new-generation RGB mini LED TVs, offered by Samsung, TCL, Hisense and other bands, which are very bright and cover a wider color gamut. Against this backdrop, LG is preparing its riposte with two eagerly-awaited series: the G6 (Gallery) and W6 (Wallpaper), which aim to push OLED to its limits, focusing on picture quality, construction finesse and technological integration.
A new Hyper Radiant Tandem OLED panel
According to the leaked documents, the LG G6 and W6 will use a new-generation tandem OLED panel called Hyper Radiant. This technology combines two emissive layers for greater luminous efficiency, with optimized thermal management. Brightness is said to be significantly higher, around 3.9 times more than certain entry-level OLED models, thanks to the Brightness Booster Ultra feature.
This tandem OLED would also make it possible to retain the deep blacks characteristic of the technology, while improving legibility in bright environments thanks to an optimized anti-glare treatment. These advances could reposition OLED against very bright mini LED RGB screens, particularly for large screens.
Alpha 11 Gen 3 chip and 165Hz gaming mode

As for image-processing, LG is said to be introducing a new version of its in-house processor: Alpha 11 Gen 3, expected to be 5 to 6 times more powerful than previous generations in terms of artificial intelligence and upscaling. This chip would also enable a 165Hz gaming mode and support for Dolby Vision Gaming, AMD FreeSync Premium Pro, Nvidia G-Sync, ALLM and VRR technologies, confirming the gaming orientation of the new models.

Of course, version 26 of the WebOS interface will be back, with extended compatibility for streaming platforms and smart assistants, not forgetting the usual Magic Remote.
Slimmer design and Zero Connect box for the W6

The LG W6 is expected to adopt the slim “Wallpaper” format, designed for invisible wall integration. It would be supplied with a Zero Connect box, which groups together all the connectors (HDMI, USB, etc.) and transmits the signal wirelessly to the screen, leaving only a simple power cable visible. This design would be aimed at the most minimalist installations.

The LG G6, meanwhile, would retain its Gallery positioning, to be wall-mounted with the standard bracket, or placed on a piece of furniture with the optional stand, and would offer a wide choice of diagonals: from 48 to 97 inches, according to reports. The W6, on the other hand, is said to be limited to 77″ and 83″.
Summary
With the G6 and W6, LG is said to be preparing a major evolution of its OLED catalog, betting on Hyper Radiant technology and enhanced image processing via the Alpha 11 Gen 3 chip. These high-end TVs should combine extreme thinness, high brightness, HDR quality and responsiveness for gaming, in an increasingly competitive context against mini LED RGB TVs. These models will be a must-see at CES 2026.
