In 2026, TCL is making major changes to its TV range. The manufacturer is banking on innovations regarding Mini LED, color management, and integrated intelligent features, while structuring a very broad range, from accessible models to premium references. At the same time, the brand’s home theater ecosystem is growing, with a new soundbar and wireless subwoofer. What are the key features of this new generation of TVs?

A new generation of SQD Mini LED displays

TCL is introducing an evolution of its Mini LED technology with the SQD Mini LED, available on the X11L, C8L/C89L and C7L/C79L ranges. This Full Array Local Dimming backlight technology offers even more precise light management. The brand’s goal is to simultaneously improve brightness and contrast thanks to an increased number of dimming zones.

The manufacturer highlights several technical improvements: a new processor dedicated to local dimming, more precise micro-lenses to control light diffusion, and adjustments to the optical distance to ensure uniform lighting. These adjustments are designed to minimize light bleed and enhance the precision of the illuminated zones.

At the same time, Super QLED technology is evolving with a new formulation of quantum dots developed with Nanosys. The result is improved nanoparticle density and enhanced color accuracy, with a Delta E of less than 1, a sign of highly faithful reproduction.

Richer colors and better image control

TCL completes this evolution with the Ultra Colour Filter Panel, a filter that refines the separation of primary colors. The manufacturer has announced a 33% increase in the colorimetric spectrum, with coverage now reaching 100% of BT.2020.

The new WHVA 2.0 panels, developed by TCL CSOT, appear on several premium series. They provide enhanced contrast and better management of viewing angles. Added to this is a Low Reflection Film that reduces reflections while maintaining deep blacks.

The design has also evolved, with a slimmer chassis that’s less than 2 cm thick and a “Virtually Zero Border” concept that uses the entire surface of the panel for the display. The image occupies the entire screen, with no visible black border.

Structured ranges from premium to very high-end

The TCL 2026 TV catalog features several distinct series. At the top of the hierarchy, the X11L series offers high performance with up to 20,736 local dimming zones and light peaks of up to 10,000 nits depending on size. It also features Bang & Olufsen’s signature audio system and extended compatibility with HDR formats.

The C8L/C89L series is positioned as a more affordable premium alternative, with a smaller but still substantial number of zones, as well as brightness of up to 6,000 nits. The C7L/C79L is more affordable, while retaining solid specs, notably for video gaming, with a native refresh rate of 144 Hz in 4K and up to 288 Hz in 1080p.

TCL also introduces a different approach with the RM9L range, based on RGB Mini LED technology. Here, color control takes place directly at LED level, enabling high contrast and richness to be achieved.

More audio and connected features

In addition to the picture, TCL is strengthening the audio ecosystem and intelligent functions. Several models feature Dolby Atmos FlexConnect, a technology that facilitates the integration of wireless speakers, such as the TCL Z100, to create a modular home theater system.

On-board smart features are available thanks to the TSR AiPQ processor and a TCL AI agent responsible for optimizing settings in real time. The TVs support a wide range of formats, including Dolby Vision, HDR10+ and IMAX Enhanced.

As for audio, TCL continues its collaboration with Bang & Olufsen on high-end models, while other series integrate Onkyo systems. The 2026 audio catalog includes the new TCL A65K soundbar, a model in 3.1.2-channel configuration. The manufacturer also announces the Z100 SW wireless subwoofer, designed to accompany the TCL Z100 Flex Connect speakers and available from April 2026.
