Sennheiser has just announced an update to the Smart Control App available on iOS and Android. The goal of this 4.3 version? To offer new customization options on the latest Sennheiser Momentum headphones and earphones.

Extensive equalization and interactive sound customization mode
The new update includes additional features for the Sennheiser Momentum True Wireless 3 earbuds and the Sennheiser Momentum 4 headphones through firmware updates. The latest version of Smart Control includes extended equalization from three to five bands. In addition to the bass, midrange and treble EQ controls, Low-Mid and High-Mid sliders have been added to provide more customization options.
An interactive sound customization mode is also included. The latter was developed in collaboration with the Fraunhofer Institute for Digital Media Technology IDMT, a world leader in the field of hearing, speech and audio technology.
Based on the IDMT data and by analyzing the user’s reactions to reference sound samples, the sound personalization feature intelligently creates and calibrates a personalized audio profile. Advanced audio processing algorithms then modify the listening experience according to the user’s preferences.
Once the baseline analysis is complete, the user has the option of refining their profile using an interactive grid. They can then save the results in their profile or adjust them later, without having to repeat the analysis of the sound samples.
Sennheiser Momentum 4: High resolution audio mode now available
A firmware update in late 2022 brought a major new feature to the Momentum True Wireless 3 earphones: a high-resolution audio mode. This feature has been extended to the Sennheiser Momentum 4 Bluetooth headphones.
When enabled by the user, this mode allows you to enjoy 24-bit/96kHz resolution via a Bluetooth connection. In addition, it increases the Bluetooth bit rate up to 420 kbits per second, providing sound quality equivalent to a wired connection, especially on aptX Adaptive enabled audio sources.
In addition, the firmware update for the Sennheiser Momentum 4 headphones allows users to turn the touch gesture feature on or off.

Sennheiser Momentum 3: help to find the perfect fit
The 4.3 version of the Smart Control App also features a fit test to help users of the Sennheiser True Wireless 3 earphones achieve a perfect fit in the ear. Guided by audio instructions provided by the app and using the included ear adapter kit, users can find the appropriate ear tip position and size for each ear.
