After the recent Davis Acoustics Ariane range unveiled at the beginning of the year, the French manufacturer continues to renew its hi-fi and home theater speaker range with the new Davis Acoustics Hera series. It replaces the Davis Mia series and is the brand’s new entry level offering. Priced from €129, Davis Hera speakers promise unbeatable value for money!

Davis Acoustics Hera: a new era

Since it was founded in 1968, Davis Acoustics has been committed to producing speakers for every level of requirement, from the most advanced models such as the Davis Acoustics Nikita 3 bookshelf speakers and the Davis Acoustics MV One Master floorstanders,to much more affordable speakers, such as those in the Ariane and Krypton ranges..

With the new Davis Acoustics Hera series, the French manufacturer aims to offer an even more economically attractive solution, without sacrificing sound quality. This commitment is reflected in the four models introduced to the Hera range:

Davis Acoustics Hera: fiberglass in the spotlight

In its half-century of existence, Davis Acoustics has acquired unique expertise in fiberglass driver design. This material is often used by the French manufacturer for its excellent transient properties and low mechanical transformation. The new Davis Acoustics Hera range is no exception, using this material for the 6.7″ midrange driver on the Davis Acoustics Hera 150 and Davis Acoustics Hera 250 floorstanders, and the 5″ midbass driver on the Davis Acoustics Hera 50 and Davis Acoustics Hera 70 bookshelf models. Each driver also benefits from a central phase plug to improve dispersion and limit distortion.

The speakers in the Davis Acoustics Hera range (here the Hera 70 bookshelves) feature fiberglass drivers to maximize the natural aspect and precision of the reproduction.

Davis Acoustics Hera: powerful bass

To extend bass response, the Davis Acoustics Hera 150 uses a 6.7″ driver dedicated exclusively to this register, while the Davis Acoustics Hera 250 uses two. They are equipped with a cellulose pulp cone identical to that used in the Davis Acoustics Ariane speakers. The same advantages are present, with very high dynamics and a strong impulse response, contributing to energetic, generous bass.

The Davis Acoustics Hera 250 floorstanding speakers feature a 6.7″ dual woofer for powerful, deep bass down to 37Hz.

Davis Acoustics Hera: smooth highs

Identical on all the speakers in the range, the Davis Acoustics Hera tweeter is a classic model using a 1″ soft fabric dome. It promises a smooth, natural reproduction of high frequencies up to 20kHz. The use of shared technologies enables the Davis Acoustics Hera speakers to offer a completely uniform performance in home theater installations. To date, Davis does not offer a center speaker for this range, but it is possible to use the Davis Acoustics Ariane C, whose acoustic design is very similar.

Davis Acoustics Hera speakers all use the same 1″ tweeter for smooth, fluid highs.
