Dali Epikore 11: a new hi-fi jewel

Designed to celebrate the Danish brand’s 40th anniversary, the Dali Epikore 11 floorstanding speaker brings together all the expertise acquired by the manufacturer over the last few decades. Previewed a few months ago at Munich High End, this new masterpiece is now officially launched at a price of €40,000. An uncompromising speaker that you can hear for the first time in France at the 2023 Paris Audio Video Show.

Dali Epikore 11: a luxurious speaker

The little sister of the Dali Kore presented at the end of last year, the Dali Epikore 11 speaker has similar features in a less disproportionate format. The Dali Kore was a veritable behemoth, a masterpiece measuring 1.70m in height and weighing over 140kg. The new Dali Epikore 11 is a little more reasonable but still very impressive, weighing in at 75kg and standing 1.60m tall. The finish is just as luxurious, with a hand-glossed real wood veneer. The completely inert and rigid structure creates a perfect low-resonance environment to maximize the naturalness of the sound reproduction. Lastly, metal feet decouple the speakers from the floor to limit unwanted vibrations and resonance.

An uncompromising design, the Dali Epikore 11 brings together the brand’s latest innovations and in-house drivers to reproduce music like never before.

Dali Epikore 11: 4.5-way architecture

The Dali Epikore 11 speaker adopts a 4.5-way design, featuring seven in-house drivers. Instead of the two 12″ woofers of the Dali Kore, the new Dali Epikore 11 features four 7.9″ woofers. Their cone is made of paper and wood fibers to maximize rigidity while limiting weight. They are combined with a 6.5″ midrange driver located in the center of the speaker. These drivers use a second generation SMC (Soft Magnetic Compound) magnetic system to reduce distortion.

The Dali Kore features four 7.9″ woofers and a 6.5″ midrange driver with SMC technology to limit distortion and maximize naturalness.

Dali Epikore 11: hybrid tweeter

The tweeter in the Dali Epikore 11 is a hybrid EVO-K model with an extraordinary diameter of 1.4″. This large surface area means that the dome’s radiation zone is much wider, for greater high frequency stability. It also allows the frequency range to be extended, for better reproduction of the upper mids. From 12.5kHz, high frequencies are reproduced by a 10 x 55mm ribbon tweeter. It adds transparency and depth to the soundstage.

The Dali Epikore 11 speaker uses a hybrid tweeter with a 1.4″ dome and a 10 x 55mm ribbon for more a homogeneous, natural reproduction of the various harmonics.

Dali Epikore 11: a jewel to discover

The Dali Epikore 11 speaker forms a bridge between the Dali Epicon range and the Dali Kore. It incorporates many of the brand’s acoustic solutions, making it one of its most effective speakers. A true acoustic feat that you can listen to on October 21 and 22 at the 2023 Paris Audio Video Show.
