British manufacturer Onix has teamed up with portable music player expert Shanling to create an innovative modular device: the Onix Miracle. Its ingenuity comes from the Onix XM10 DAP, which can be combined with the Onix XP10 headphone amp and DAC docking station to boost power and facilitate access to streaming services. Combined with a linear power supply, the Onix XPS10 headphone amplifier and preamplifier offers an extensive range of connectors, including a USB input for 32-bit/768kHz and DSD512 playback. Is this the ultimate solution for mixed portable and sedentary listening?

Onix Miracle: a modular concept

To create this ingenious desktop headphone amp concept, Onix turned to Asian manufacturer Shanling due to its extensive expertise in this field. The brand has enjoyed a solid reputation since the release of the all-in-one Shanling EM5, which was hailed by the press (read the Shanling EM5 review), and more recently with the new Shanling EM7. The Onix Miracle innovates by replacing the usual touch screen of desktop headphone amplifiers with a true DAP, allowing you to enjoy your music even when away from home.

Modular according to your needs, the Onix Miracle system consists of a DAP that can be used outside the home, or with the Onix XP10 headphone amp and DAC for easy control and access to streaming services.

Onix Miracle: the DAP

A true control center for the Onix Miracle system, the Onix XM10 DAP can be used as a desktop streamer when docked to the Onix XP10 headphone amp, or on battery power when listening to music outside the home. Equipped with the prestigious AKM AK4493SEQ DAC, FGPA controllers and high-precision oscillators, the Onix Miracle player plays Hi-Res tracks up to 32-bit/768kHz, as well as DSD512 files.

Thanks to its AKM DAC, the Onix Miracle DAP plays Hi-Res tracks at up to 32-bit/768kHz, as well as DSD512 files.

Thanks to the Onix XM10’s Android 10 operating system and access to the Google Play Store, all the major streaming services are easily accessible. For those who like the freedom of wireless listening, the Onix XM10 offers a Bluetooth 5.0 connection with support for HD codecs such as aptX HD, LDAC and LHDC.

Onix Miracle: decisive power

Thanks to its ultra-low-noise Ricore RT6863 modules, the Onix Miracle DAP is capable of developing a comfortable 125 mW into 32 ohms with the 3.5mm mini-jack output, or 230 mW into 32 ohms with the 4.4mm balanced jack output. At home, the XM10 can be docked to the Onix XP10 headphone amplifier to boost power to over 1757 mW into 32 ohms (unbalanced), and 5600 mW into 32 ohms (balanced). The perfect power supply for any headphones or in-ear monitors. Compatibility is also maximized by the quadruple headphone output: a 6.35mm jack, a 3.5mm jack, a 4.4mm jack and an XLR connector.

With power ratings of up to 5600 mW into 32 ohms and a quadruple headphone output – 6.35mm jack, 3.5mm, 4.4mm and XLR – the Onix XP10 headphone amp is sure to get the most out of any pair of headphones.

Onix Miracle : unlimited connectivity

Used on its own, the Onix XM10 can play files stored in its internal memory, on a micro SD card, shared on the local network or read from streaming services such as Tidal, Qobuz, Spotify and Amazon Music. With the Onix XP10 DAC and headphone amp, the possibilities are endless thanks to extensive connectivity. This includes an RCA, optical and coaxial input for connection to a CD player, TV or pre-amplified turntable, for example.

Thanks to its USB port combined with an ESS DAC, the Onix Miracle headphone amplifier can play Hi-Res files up to 32-bit/768kHz and DSD512 from a Windows or Mac computer.

Two USB ports complete the XP10’s connectivity for reading files stored on a USB stick or computer. The Onix XP10 headphone amp then uses its own 8-channel ESS Sabre ES9039 Pro DAC. It is also 32-bit/768kHz and DSD512 compatible. Finally, RCA and XLR outputs enable the Onix Miracle system to be combined with an existing hi-fi system. It then acts as a DAC, network player and hi-fi preamplifier.

Thanks to its RCA and XLR outputs, the Onix Miracle system can be integrated into an existing hi-fi system to act as an audio DAC and network player.

Onix Miracle: linear power supply

On the move, the Onix XM10 has its own rechargeable battery offering up to 18 hours of autonomy. At home, the Onix Miracle system benefits from the precision of the Onix XPS10 linear power supply, delivering clean, stable current. It adopts a perfectly insulated Nordic Noratel 30W toroidal transformer. It ensures high current capacity while effectively limiting interference, guaranteeing a transparent, detailed reproduction.

The linear power supply that accompanies the Onix Miracle audiophile system maximizes transparency and precision by providing a clean, stable current to the various electronic components.

Delivered with the Onix XM10 portable player, Onix XP10 headphone amp and Onix XPS10 linear power supply, the Onix Miracle system is now available from Son-Vidéo.com for €4990. With this innovative concept, the British manufacturer offers a complete audiophile ecosystem, promising total musical immersion both at home and on the move.
