Multi-room audio specialist Sonos has officially presented its new portable speaker: the Sonos Move 2. The second generation of the popular Sonos Move, it retains dual WiFi and Bluetooth connectivity for versatile use both at home and in the garden. The autonomy has been extended to 24 hours, the acoustic architecture has been redesigned, and the touchscreen interface has been modernized for even greater practicality.
Sonos Move 2: Bluetooth and WiFi
At the end of 2019, Sonos went outside the home for the first time with the Sonos Move portable speaker. The American manufacturer also integrated a Bluetooth receiver, a first for a Sonos speaker, in order to extend the range covered by the home WiFi network. At home, WiFi was still required to enjoy the same streaming options as the brand’s other speakers. This dual connectivity was a great success, and has since been extended to the latest Sonos speakers, including the Sonos Roam, Sonos Era 100, Sonos Era 300 and of course the new Sonos Move 2.
Sonos Move 2: longer battery life
Like its predecessor, the Sonos Move 2 speaker is designed to follow the user around the home and garden. To do this, it incorporates its own rechargeable battery. Autonomy increases from 10 to 24 hours, so you can enjoy your music all day long. At home, the speaker can be powered from the mains simply by placing it on its base. Thanks to its IP56 certification, this speaker is fully splash and dust-resistant, so you can take it into the bathroom or to the poolside without fear of damaging it.

Sonos Move 2: stereo sound and calibration
Sonos has also reworked the acoustic design of the Sonos Move 2 speaker to deliver even more realistic and powerful stereo sound. To work just as effectively inside and outside the home, the Sonos Move 2 speaker features the brand’s exclusive TruePlay calibration system. It uses several microphones to measure the specific characteristics of the listening environment and adapt the reproduction accordingly. So you can be sure you’re always enjoying the best listening experience.
Sonos Move 2: new interface
In addition to control from a smartphone or tablet, the Sonos Move 2 speaker also features a new touch-sensitive control interface on its top panel. It follows the design of the Sonos Era 100 and Era 300, with more intuitive volume control. Finally, voice control is possible via the Amazon Alexa and Sonos Voice Control assistants, both installed on the speaker.
Sonos Move 2: price & availability
The new Sonos Move 2 portable Bluetooth speaker is now available for pre-order at €499 on Son-Vidéo.com. The first shipments are scheduled for September 20, 2023.
