Available on Apple Vision Pro, Meta Quest and Pico headsets, the AmazeVR service offers musical experiences in virtual reality. The band Avenged Sevenfold has arrived on the platform with a concert that allows the audience to get right up close to the musicians. A unique experience that should delight fans of heavy metal and VR!

AmazeVR: concerts in virtual reality
The AmazeVR service is interesting in more ways than one, as it offers unprecedented immersion to see musicians play as if you were on stage with them. The experience goes a step further than a simple concert filmed in 360°, as it also lets you enjoy environments that evolve with the music. It’s an excellent idea, totally immersing you in the world of the artists, with scenes illustrating the songs being performed.
AmazeVR also organizes events where music fans are invited to don virtual reality headsets to enjoy the performance. For example, k-pop singer KAI performed at Megabox Coex in Seoul in February 2024. Given the success of the experiment, a second date is planned for March 5, 2024.
Artists such as Megan Thee Stallion, UPSAHL, Zara Larsson and T-Pain have already taken part in this experience. The AmazeVR platform is continuing its efforts by inviting Avenged Sevenfold. A band that sets itself apart from previous guests, offering a heavy metal concert with scenery that changes with each track. After rap and pop, the service opens up to a more niche genre, but one that demonstrates a desire for a certain eclecticism.
Who is Avenged Sevenfold?
Avenged Sevenfold is an American metal band formed in 1999 in Huntington Beach, California. The founding members of the band are Mr. Shadows on vocals, Zacky Vengeance on rhythm guitar, Synyster Gates on lead guitar and The Rev on drums. They were later joined by bassist Johnny Christ. Often pigeonholed in the heavy metal genre, Avenged Sevenfold mixes hard rock and progressive metal.
Although their style has evolved over the years, their heavy roots can still be felt in their current music. Their first commercial success came in 2005 with the album City of Evil. An eponymous project in 2006 confirmed their popularity. Avenged Sevenfold are renowned for their live performances, complex compositions and unique blend of musical influences.
Their presence on AmazeVR will come as no surprise to fans of the band, which is very much in tune with the times. A few months ago, Avenged Sevenfold launched an innovative Web 3.0 operation. For each merchandising product purchased, the customer also received its digital equivalent thanks to an NFT.
Productions for virtual reality and the metaverse
AmazeVR is now working hand-in-hand with Studio Realive (formerly Studio Kwangya), a company specializing in content creation for the metaverse and virtual reality. This production studio belongs to the South Korean multinational SM Entertainment, which produces, among others, k-pop artists such as Kangta, BoA, TVXQ, Super Junior, Girls’ Generation and J-Min. Its goal is to promote both artists and new technologies.

Resolutely forward-looking, these companies are starting to produce content for virtual reality and the metaverse. It’s a sensible choice, because as virtual universes grow, communities build up around them. New audiences and new ways for artists to monetize their work are emerging. The best example being the game Fortnite, which regularly features musical events that have already seen the likes of Eminem, Travis Scott and more recently Lady Gaga.
For its part, the META group (Facebook, Instagram) continues to develop its metaverse despite the losses incurred by the project. Mark Zuckerberg seems to believe in the development of this new way of communicating online. The arrival of the Apple Vision Pro headset has also shaken up the market a little, and may well encourage other manufacturers to offer new solutions for virtual and augmented reality.
