American manufacturer Klipsch has revealed its new soundbar: the Klipsch Flexus Core 300. As the flagship of the modular Flexus range, this model is revolutionary in that it is the first soundbar in the world to feature advanced Dirac Live calibration technology. It promises to adjust the sound depending on the environment to provide a highly immersive experience.
A modular home theater system
Launched at the beginning of the year, the Klipsch Flexus range lets you create a custom wireless home theater. It currently includes the Klipsch Core Flexus 100 (2.1 channels with virtual Atmos) and Klipsch Core Flexus 200 (3.1.2 channels with Atmos drivers) soundbars. The latter can be paired with the Klipsch Flexus Sub 100 wireless subwoofer and optional Klipsch Flexus Surr 100 surround speakers for total flexibility. The new Klipsch Flexus Core 300 soundbar incorporates this modularity while offering an even more powerful solution.

12 drivers with 5.1.2 channels
Pushing the limits of the already impressive Klipsch Core 200, the Klipsch Core 300 soundbar incorporates a set of 12 drivers mounted in a 5.1.2 architecture. It includes two 2.2″ front drivers, two 2.2″ lateral drivers, as well as four front drivers and a central horn tweeter for clear dialogue. These are backed up by four 4″ woofers for powerful bass from a relatively compact soundbar. The whole system benefits from amplification modules designed for AV receiver specialist Onkyo.

Dirac and Dolby Atmos: a winning combination
One of the most interesting aspects of the integration of Dirac technology in the Klipsch Flexus Core 300 soundbar is its interaction with the Dolby Atmos format. While the latter is already revolutionizing audio by introducing three-dimensional sound, it is entirely dependent on room acoustics. This is where Dirac Live comes in. By taking into account the characteristics of the room, the technology adjusts the placement and diffusion of sound effects, offering a far more precise and immersive result. Sound effects gain in naturalness and presence, whether it’s the subtle sound of rain falling in a corner or the roar of a helicopter passing overhead.

Fredric Tapper, Vice President of Home Audio at Dirac, points out that Klipsch and Dirac share a common vision of audio excellence. He says, “The collaboration with Klipsch on the Flexus Core 300 soundbar reflects this quest for excellence. This unique product sets a new standard in the soundbar industry, redefining audio performance. This approach highlights incomparable sound quality, thanks to the integration of Dirac Live technology, which optimizes the listening experience in a residential setting.”
An 8K UHD experience
In addition to Dirac Live calibration, the Klipsch Flexus Core 300 soundbar also supports video up to UHD 8K thanks to its HDMI 2.1 passthrough input and eARC-compatible HDMI output. This means that users equipped with a compatible TV can enjoy optimum visual quality with a latest-generation source like the Zidoo Z9X 8K streamer. The connectors are completed by a mini-jack input and an optical output for connecting a wired subwoofer, in addition to the wireless subwoofers in the Klipsch Flexus range.

Control and streaming app
Like the other models in the range, the Klipsch Flexus Core 300 soundbar offers several sound modes to suit the program being viewed, and allows you to create your own equalization from the Klipsch mobile app. It stands out for its extensive network capabilities, enabling streaming via AirPlay 2, Bluetooth and Chromecast, as well as compatibility with Tidal Connect and Spotify Connect. Naturally, Dirac Live calibration also benefits music.

Price and availability
The new Klipsch Flexus Core 300 soundbar is due to arrive in France this winter, priced at €999. It aims to offer unprecedented sound immersion thanks to the integration of Dirac Live calibration. By making accessible this technology previously reserved for professional or licensed installations, Klipsch is paving the way for a new era in consumer home theater.
