At the BenQ booth at IFA 2026, two projectors marked a major turning point for the manufacturer: the BenQ W4200 and TK715i. For the first time, the manufacturer has adopted a triple-laser RGB light source, supplied by Nichia, while also introducing a dedicated artificial intelligence chip for video processing and projector setup. Both models feature 4K UHD resolution, 3,200 ANSI lumens of brightness, and a claimed 99% coverage of the DCI-P3 color space, with distinct market positioning: the W4200 is geared more toward home theater use, while the TK715i prioritizes versatility in a living room setting.

BenQ moves to triple RGB laser with the W4200 and TK715i
Both new models feature a 0.47-inch DLP DMD chip paired with Nichia’s new Qualas 42 triple-laser RGB engine. This architecture uses red, green, and blue light sources directly, enabling the W4200 and TK715i to deliver 3,200 ANSI lumens while covering 99% of the DCI-P3 color space.

This transition to triple-laser technology represents a major step forward for BenQ, which also intends to preserve one of its long-standing hallmarks: factory-calibrated colorimetry, with an individual certificate provided with each home theater projector. To maintain this high standard, the brand has developed its own anti-speckle system, designed to reduce the speckling that can occur with an RGB laser light source. BenQ also mentioned a process aimed at minimizing the perception of rainbow effects.
The W4200 also benefits from a combination of optical and video processing technologies to achieve a native contrast ratio of up to 3,000:1, with the help of a physical iris. It also features the next-generation HDR-Pro 2.0 video processing with AI Contrast, which adjusts the rendering of HDR scenes.
BenQ W4200: a model designed for home theater
Of the two projectors unveiled in Berlin, the BenQ W4200 is designed to be the most cinema-oriented. The manufacturer has equipped it with a 1.6x optical zoom, offering a throw ratio ranging from 0.9 to 1.5:1. Its lens shift ranges from ±50% vertically and ±20% horizontally. This allows the image to be shifted optically without moving the projector or introducing geometric distortion.
Color accuracy is also a key focus. The W4200 covers 99 percent of the DCI-P3 color space and continues a well-established tradition at BenQ: for several generations, the brand has paid particular attention to the factory calibration of its home theater projectors. The W4200 continues this approach, with factory calibration documented by the certificate included in the packaging. With this new triple-laser generation, BenQ intends to maintain this strategy despite the change in light source technology.
The manufacturer also highlights Dolby Vision 2.0: BenQ presents the W4200 as the first projector compatible with this new version of Dolby’s HDR format. The BenQ W4200 also features HDR-Pro 2.0 processing with AI Contrast, offers Filmmaker Mode, and is IMAX Enhanced certified. The goal is to optimize HDR processing while maintaining faithful color reproduction and artistic intent.
The manufacturer expects this projector to be available by January 2027, with a retail price of around €5,000.
TK715i: 3,200 lumens and 5 ms in 4K
Displayed alongside the W4200, the TK715i features the same 4K resolution, the same triple RGB laser light source, and the same brightness of 3,200 ANSI lumens, with a design geared more toward everyday entertainment.
Its 1.43x optical zoom offers a throw ratio of 0.98 to 1.4:1. BenQ also includes its eight-axis intelligent image adjustment system. More powerful sensors and an AI chip assist with automatic adjustments to make it easier to position the projector.
Video gaming is also one of its primary uses. The BenQ TK715i boasts a claimed latency of 5 ms at 60Hz 4K, features two HDMI 2.1 ports (including one with eARC), and offers ALLM and specific modes that adjust contrast and detail levels, among other settings. MEMC and a Sports mode round out its processing capabilities for fast-paced content, while its interface is based on Google TV. BenQ says this model will be available by January 2027, with a price expected to be around €1,500.
AI, Gemini, and home automation arrive on BenQ projectors
This generation also marks the debut of AI in video processing for BenQ. The same chip powers the automatic setup features, with sensors designed to better analyze the projection environment (TK715i).
Depending on the model, Gemini also serves as a replacement for Google Assistant. BenQ adds Matter compatibility, designed to integrate the projectors into Google Home, Apple Home, or Control4 setups and include them in home automation scenarios that combine lighting, projection, and other devices.

With the W4200 and TK715i, BenQ took advantage of IFA 2026 to introduce several new technologies to its lineup: triple RGB laser, AI video processing, and Dolby Vision 2.0. The BenQ W4200 focuses on home theater with its iris, lens shift, and 1.6x zoom, while the BenQ TK715i takes a more versatile approach with Google TV, automated setup, and dedicated gaming features.
This new product family, which is expected to go on sale by early next year, will also include a model called the TK805i, scheduled for release in January 2027. BenQ is therefore preparing to rapidly expand its triple-laser range beyond the first two models showcased in Berlin.
