Kate has been a translator and writer for Son-Vidéo.com since 2018. She enjoys sharing her passion for music and cinema in the news articles she pens for the blog, but when she’s not working you’ll find her watching an indie film (probably Sofia Coppola's "Lost in Translation" for the hundredth time) or spinning a David Bowie, Kate Bush, Joy Division or Aphex Twin record on her Rega Planar 1 turntable.

She’s always been a huge music lover, and fondly remembers plugging a pair of headphones into her parents’ old hi-fi system to listen to their Frank Zappa, Ramones, Kate Bush and Kiss records. Kate has kept her eclectic taste in music and enjoys rock, indie and pop. She’s also a big fan of electronic musicians such as Boards of Canada, Aphex Twin and Daft Punk and likes to go to concerts to discover new artists.

As someone who can’t imagine spending a day without listening to music, Kate enjoys collecting vinyl records and CDs, but also has a streaming account with far too many playlists. Her current audio setup consists of a Rega Planar 1 turntable and a Yamaha connected amplifier, as well as Audio-Technica headphones and Marshall earbuds for commuting.

Kate’s passion for films and series began when she was at high school and decided to join the cinema club organized by her philosophy teacher. She’s particularly fond of indie films and anime, and her favorite feature films include Taxi Driver, Lost in Translation, The Royal Tenenbaums and Princess Mononoke. She also watches a lot of TV series (Twin Peaks, Fargo, Mad Men…) and plans to start a small Blu-ray collection in order to enjoy them with the best picture quality available.
