Sim racing, or racing simulation, is a video game genre that aims to reproduce the sensations of racing as faithfully as possible, thanks to specialized software and adapted equipment. Unlike arcade games, the emphasis is on realism: vehicle physics, tire management, car reactions on different types of road surface. To fully immerse themselves, enthusiasts use force feedback steering wheels, pedals, gearshifts and sometimes even complete cockpits with bucket seats, large screens or virtual reality headsets.
