At the end of last year, we presented the audio equipment awarded the AVForums Editor’s Choice 2021 label as well as the televisions and projectors awarded the AVForums Editor’s Choice 2021 label and the winners of the Diapason d’or 2021 award. For the beginning of the year 2022, the website Sound & Vision, specialized in hi-fi and home cinema, presents its Top Pick 2021 selection. The Top Pick label rewards the best equipment of the year in the following categories: televisions, projectors, projection screens, AV receivers, hi-fi amplifiers, hi-fi sources, soundbars, speakers, wireless speakers, subwoofers and headphones.

Already awarded an EISA Award, AVForums Editor’s Choice, Trusted Review Award 2021 and the What Hi-Fi? 5 star and On-Mag Top Audio 2021 labels, the LG OLED65G1 “impresses with its exceptional HDR performance” and wins the Sound & Vision Top Pick label in the TV category, while the Top Pick 2021 award in the projector category goes to the JVC DLA-NZ9 projector. Sound & Vision concludes with this: “Is there a projector that offers better overall image quality than the DLA-NZ9 in this price range? We don’t think so.”

The Yamaha Aventage RX-A6A AV receiver has “set itself apart with its sound quality, unique DSP-surround options and a powerful scene memory system that allows you to switch between custom settings at the press of a button on the remote control”. It therefore won the Sound & Vision Top Pick award in its category. Regarding audio sources, the Bluesound Node 2021 audio network player was awarded the Sound & Vision Top Pick award for its sound performance, but also for “its control application […] that is among the most user-friendly” and “its affordability”. Performances that have already allowed it to win an EISA Award, as well as an On-Mag Top Audio 2021 award and a What Hi-Fi? 5 star label.

The video sources awarded with a 2021 Top Picks award are the Reavon UBR-X100 and Reavon UBR-X200 UHD Blu-ray players, hailed for their “reference video quality”, Sound & Vision even pointing out that “Blu-ray enthusiasts would struggle to find better options.”
The Polk Audio brand shines in the highly sought-after loudspeaker arena, with the EISA Award-winning Polk System 5.0.2 R600 set. Sound & Vision points out the excellent value for money of the Polk System, concluding, “You could certainly spend more to get great sound for your home theater, but this Reserve Series speaker system from Polk Audio proves that you don’t have to.

In the wireless speaker category, the KEF LS50 Wireless II “leads the market in delivering true audiophile quality reproduction” and has won the Sound & Vision Top Pick 2021 award, adding to their impressive list of AVForums Editor’s Choice 2021, On-Mag Top Audio 2020, AVCesar.com Must, What Hi-Fi? 5-Star, EISA Award and Diapason d’Or awards. The SVS SB-1000 Pro and SVS PB-1000 Pro subwoofers stand out in their category and Sound & Vision “easily recommends either model to anyone looking for solid bass for a reasonable price.”

Finally, in the headphones and earphones category, the Jabra Elite 85T win the Sound & Vision Top Pick 2021 label thanks to “their highly effective active noise cancelling system, excellent HearThrough ambient sound mode and Sound+ customization and control app” which allowed them to “easily outperform the competition”.
