Sennheiser’s Ambeo SoundBar sees its performance taken to the next level with the release of a new operating system called AMBEO|OS. The latter adds AirPlay 2 streaming, support for Tidal Connect and Spotify Connect. The control app is also completely redesigned to offer new features and a more user-friendly experience.
Sennheiser Ambeo SoundBar: AirPlay 2, Tidal and Spotify
The new Sennheiser Ambeo SoundBar operating system enriches the bar’s ecosystem by introducing new features. Until then, music could only be streamed via Chromecast or Bluetooth. To facilitate transmission from Apple devices (iPhone, iMac, iPod and Mac), the Sennheiser Ambeo SoundBar now supports AirPlay 2 streaming. The audio stream of any application can therefore be broadcast more easily. The latest Sennheiser Ambeo SoundBar update also adds compatibility with Spotify Connect and Tidal Connect. It is now possible to stream music from the native applications of these two services. With these new additions, the Sennheiser Ambeo SoundBar demonstrates its ambition to offer a system that is equally well suited for home theater and music.
Sennheiser Ambeo SoundBar: faster app
Until now, the Sennheiser Ambeo SoundBar used Bluetooth Low Energy to connect to the Sennheiser Smart Control mobile app. With the new AMBEO|OS system, Bluetooth is abandoned in favor of a WiFi connection. The result is a much smoother and more responsive user experience. Adjustments and control are more pleasant, with a modernized interface. For even more flexibility, the Sennheiser Ambeo SoundBar can also be controlled from a dedicated web interface. The latter offers the same options and the same ease of use as the mobile application.
New app features
The Sennheiser Smart Control app update also benefits the brand’s headphones and IEMs. The latter benefit from new features to personalize the sound, in particular thanks to the Sound Check and Sound Zones modes. The first guides users through three simple steps to find the perfect EQ preset for their tastes. The second allows you to adapt the equalization settings, active noise cancellation and Transparent Hearing mode of the Sennheiser CX Plus True Wireless headphones according to different defined locations: at home, in the office or on the go. It is therefore possible to dynamically adjust the audio parameters according to the location of the user.
The new update of the Sennheiser Ambeo SoundBar and the Sennheiser Smart Control app is now available. After installing the latest version of the mobile app, the Sennheiser Ambeo can easily update to take advantage of AirPlay 2 streaming, Tidal Connect and Spotify Connect.
