What Hi-Fi? Awards 2022: discover all the winners

Every year, the renowned British magazine What Hi-Fi? publishes its selection of the best audio and video equipment of the year. These awards recognize the best performing electronics in many categories, including televisions, soundbars, projectors, A/V receivers cinema, turntables, wireless hi-fi speakers, hi-fi headphones, network audio players, hi-fi amplifiers, speaker packs, DAPs, bookshelf speakers, CD players, True Wireless earbuds and audio DACs.

One of the biggest winners in the video category is LG, with the LG OLED42C2 (read the review of the LG OLED42C2 on the blog), LG OLED65C2 and LG OLED77C2 televsions and their new OLED Evo 4K UHD panel, as well as the LG HU715QW ultra short-throw projector. Sony is also present with its famous Sony VPL-XW5000 and Sony VPL-XW7000 4K UHD projectors (read our review of the Sony VPL-XW5000ES and XW7000ES).

Equipped with a new native 4K UHD SXRD chip, a new high-performance ACF lens and the X1 Ultimate processor, the Sony VPL-XW5000 projector is among the What Hi-Fi? Awards winners.

Once again this year, What Hi-Fi? has awarded many British hi-fi products. Among the winning brands are Bowers & Wilkins with anniversary versions of the Bowers & Wilkins 607 S2 and Bowers & Wilkins 606 S2 bookshelf speakers, but also KEF with the KEF LS50 Meta, KEF LS50 Wireless 2 and KEF LSX Wireless 2 speakers, Chord Electronics with the Chord QuTest and the Chord Hugo 2, and Naim with the Naim mu-so Qb 2 speaker as well as the Naim NAIT XS 3, Naim ND5 XS 2 and Naim Uniti Atom HDMI electronics. As far as headphones are concerned, the American brand Grado stands out with the SR80x and SR325x models.

As usual, the British manufacturer KEF is among the winners of the What Hi-Fi? Awards, notably with the KEF LSX Wireless 2 hi-fi speaker.

Regarding the world of vinyl, What Hi-Fi? has chosen to bestow awards on the English manufacturer Rega with the models Rega Planar 1 and Rega Planar 6 + Ania (see our test of the Rega Planar 6 turntable). Pro-Ject, Technics and Ortofon are also among the winners of this category.

Technics is one of the turntable manufacturers awarded by What Hi-Fi? magazine with the Technics SL-1500C model.
