After the Carol 7.1 surround headrest, Razer continues to innovate in 3D audio with the Razer Leviathan V2 Pro surround soundbar. Introduced at CES 2023, it is the first PC soundbar with artificial intelligence for head movement tracking. This tracking always puts you at the center of the acoustic image thanks to an infrared camera and adaptive sound beams developed by Audioscenic. With a dedicated subwoofer and THX Spatial Audio, it is fully optimized for gaming.

Design and performance
The Razer Leviathan V2 Pro is a 3D surround soundbar with a subwoofer. It takes the design of the previous Leviathan models and offers an improved version accompanied by all the brand’s expertise. With real-time intelligent head tracking, you’ll enjoy personalized sound with unparalleled accuracy and immersion.

It connects to your PC via USB and supports Bluetooth devices such as smartphones, tablets and the Nintendo Switch. In addition, it also has a 3.5mm mini jack headphone output.

Infrared camera and sound beams
Firstly, the main innovation when compared to the Leviathan V2 model is the tracking of head movements via the built-in infrared camera. The presence of the latter is justified by the need to know where you are, even in the dark. To keep the user in the center of the soundstage, Razer and Audioscenic have developed a sound beam forming technology.

The beams follow the listener’s position and allows them to be in the center of the soundscape at all times, regardless of their position. This process influences the phase of each driver and is called “Constructive and destructive interference”.

Increased power
The Leviathan gaming soundbar benefits from increased power compared to the previous model due to the addition of drivers. There are five 2-inch full range drivers and a subwoofer with a downward-firing 5-inch driver. Thanks to this new setup, the bass goes down to 40Hz (compared to 45Hz for the Leviathan V2 model) and the system features a 10-band equalizer.

3D Audio Modes
Finally, the 3D audio modes complete the innovations of this soundbar, which is very attractive to say the least. Two modes are available for 3D audio: THX Spatial Audio Virtual Headset and THX Spatial Audio Virtual Speakers. Virtual Headset mode offers stereo or binaural audio, while the Virtual Speakers mode is suitable for multi-channel audio streams. Players will enjoy locating their enemies even more easily.
Razer Audio App
To demonstrate its expertise, Razer lets you control this Leviathan V2 Pro soundbar via the Razer Audio App. As the bar can be connected via Bluetooth, it is possible to play music from a streaming service or personal playlist with any compatible device. Useful in all multimedia situations, the application also allows you to control certain streaming services as well as playback (play/pause and skip tracks).

Razer Chroma 30 zones
Among these functions, we also find the management of Chroma backlighting. With 30 customizable color zones, gamers will be able to decide on the visual effect: feedback from games, synchronized ambiance with other Razer Chroma equipment or follow the colors displayed on the screen for an unparalleled atmosphere.

After gaming soundbars such as the LG GP9, or the previous Razer Leviathan V2 model, the Razer Leviathan V2 Pro soundbar promises to surpass all expectations in terms of audio immersion. We are looking forward to testing this new Razer Next-Gen soundbar!
