Bankii is a Thai YouTuber specialized in food and culinary content. The content creator is also an avid gamer, and is a huge fan of the Star Citizen sci-fi universe simulator. To take immersion to the next level, he has invested in a PC setup worth $26,000! The installation was inspired by the interior of the C2 Hercules Starlifter ship from the Cloud Imperium Games title.

Reproduction of a starship interior for a gaming setup
Bankii is a rather exuberant content creator, and this setup, inspired by the Star Citizen universe, is a reflection of that. This reproduction of the interior of the C2 Hercules Starlifter cost the eye-watering sum of $26,000, but the result is very impressive. Many of the details are true to the game. A workspace was also designed to accommodate an iMac for video editing.
The PC is equipped with an RTX3090 graphics card, to run games on three 65″ Sony TVs from the X95G range, which have now been replaced by Sony X95L 4K UHD TVs. A Samsung curved gaming screen, at the center of the setup, displays Star Citizen’s ship dashboard. The ultimate configuration for space simulations!
And what would a gaming setup be without RGB lighting? The ship’s interior is lit with Philips Hue Lightstrips, adding an even more immersive atmosphere. The result is very impressive, and the attention to detail gives this gaming room a wonderful, sci-fi feel, but it would have benefited from the Philips Hue Play HDMI Sync Box, to synchronize the lighting with the images in the game.
Star Citizen: an ultra-ambitious MMO set in space
The Star Citizen project began in 2011 through crowdfunding, promising a highly ambitious multiplayer video game in space. A community of gamers quickly amassed to support the Cloud Imperium Games studio, which can boast of having raised almost $658 million in just over 10 years. Probably one of the most ambitious projects in video game history, it is still in development today.

Under the direction of Chris Roberts, Star Citizen is a massively multiplayer online space simulation that aims to create a vast and detailed virtual universe. It offers players the chance to explore space, engage in space combat, trade and interact with each other in an expansive environment. Although enjoyed by a sizeable community, the game is also the subject of criticism due to its protracted development, frequent delays and uncertain final release date.
Meanwhile, a single-player mode entitled Squadron 42 has also been in development for many years. This second project has also seen its release date postponed several times. However, the game seems to be on the right track, with Chris Roberts recently announcing that the title was (finally) in the final stages of development.
