Omnipresent in the gaming display and home theater projector markets, BenQ is also planning to make its mark in the booming gaming projector sector. The Taiwanese manufacturer has just unveiled three promising new models: the BenQ X500i, BenQ X300G and BenQ X3100i.
For several years now, projector manufacturers have been trying to win over gamers. Aware of the importance for gamers of choosing the right equipment for an immersive experience, BenQ hasn’t hesitated to develop specific ranges that feature low input lag and high refresh rates. The goal is to offer gamers a very large, smooth and responsive image, with both game consoles and gaming PCs.
BenQ: gaming and video
A key player in the gaming display market, BenQ has won over regular gamers with its BenQ Mobiuz displays. Featuring responsive panels (144Hz or 165Hz depending on model), they offer DisplayPort and HDMI connectivity and support AMD FreeSync Premium technology.
The brand also caters for professional gamers with its range of BenQ Zowie gaming displays, dedicated to eSport competitions. These models offer a refresh rate of 240Hz, or even 360Hz, ensuring perfect smoothness and exceptional responsiveness thanks to a response time of 0.5 ms.
The Taiwanese manufacturer also shines in the home theater projector market, with iconic models such as the BenQ W5700 and the recent BenQ W4000i, both of which have won multiple awards from the trade press.
BenQ is now focusing its gaming and projector expertise on three new gaming projectors: the BenQ X500i, the BenQ X300G and the BenQ X3100i.
These 4K UHD models all offer great responsiveness and a high refresh rate. They project bright, high-contrast images with intense colors, so you can enjoy the full richness of your games, as well as movies and streaming services thanks to Android TV integration.
Performance of the BenQ X500i, BenQ X300G and BenQ X3100i
The three new BenQ gaming projectors use DLP technology combined with an LED light source to guarantee optimum image quality. They project an image measuring from 1.5m to 3m, and even 5m across, depending on the model. Their short focal length means you don’t need to place them far from the screen to enjoy an XXL image in a modest-sized room, typically a studio, bedroom or small living room.

Immersive experience and benefits of BenQ gaming projectors
These three new BenQ gaming projectors offer very low input lag (between 4.2 ms and 16.7 ms) and a high refresh rate (up to 240Hz), ensuring almost instant responsiveness and remarkable smoothness, for maximum immersion in the heart of video games. Several image modes adapted to different types of game are also available (FPS, RPG, SPG).
They also offer an excellent user experience, with simplified installation in particular. Not only can you project a very large image without having to install them far from the wall or screen, but they can also be easily adapted to your needs.
Their keystone correction makes it easy to correct image distortion if you need to move the projector to one side. The BenQ X300G even allows image rotation (+/-40°) if it isn’t installed perfectly horizontally! All models also feature an optical zoom, accompanied by a lens shift function for the BenQ X3100i.
What’s more, each of these BenQ gaming projectors features a built-in stereo audio system to effectively diffuse the sound of games and movies, without the need for a separate device.
As for connectors, 60Hz 4K compatible HDMI ports are included, as well as a USB-C DisplayPort on the BenQ X500i and X300G, to easily connect a games console or gaming PC, plus a 4K Blu-ray player for movies.
You can also use the HDMI eARC function (Dolby Atmos compatible), or use the audio outputs (optical and mini-jack) on the BenQ X500i and BenQ X3100i, to diffuse soundtracks from a soundbar.
The manufacturer has also kept streaming in mind, as an Android TV module is supplied with each projector, for direct access to Netflix, Prime Video, Disney+, YouTube and more.
Finally, the use of LED lamps at the heart of these projectors eliminates the limitations and cost of replacing standard lamps. The light source of each of these BenQ projectors has a life of 20,000 hours in normal mode and up to 30,000 hours in eco mode.
