A major player in the Bluetooth speaker market, JBL is anticipating the arrival of spring. The American manufacturer has therefore unveiled the fourth generation of its JBL GO 4 portable mini-speaker. The main change is that its battery life has been extended by two hours.

JBL GO 3 vs JBL GO 4: what’s the difference?

Three years after the release of the JBL GO 3 model, the American brand is renewing its most compact Bluetooth speaker. But how does the JBL GO 4 speaker differ from its predecessor?

First of all, the new version benefits from extended autonomy. It gains two extra hours to reach seven hours of playback on a single charge. What’s more, the Playtime Boost mode, accessible from the JBL Portable control app, extends battery life by two hours and boosts bass presence with a built-in preset.

In addition to a slightly revamped design, with less rounded lines and the addition of recycled plastic reinforcements, this new JBL speaker incorporates the Auracast wireless chaining protocol. This Bluetooth technology enables two speakers to be connected to enjoy louder music. The Auracast protocol is multi-brand compatible. For example, a JBL GO 4 speaker can be paired with a speaker from another brand featuring the same technology, or with another Auracast-compatible model from the same manufacturer.

The same advantages

Beyond the improvements made in this fourth generation, the JBL GO 4 portable speaker retains the strengths of its predecessor. The small, portable Bluetooth speaker is also water and dust resistant (IP 67), and comes with a carrying strap.

JBL’s new mini Bluetooth speaker preserves the brand’s signature sound. It uses the same 1.8″ driver as the previous version. The 4.2-watt digital amplification system also remains unchanged.

The JBL GO 4 portable Bluetooth speaker is available in blue, black, white, purple, red, pink and camouflage on Son-Vidéo.com for €49.90. It’s the perfect companion to accompany you everywhere this summer, by the poolside, on the patio or at the beach!
