JVC has renewed its range of high-end home theater projectors with the DLA-NZ900 and DLA-NZ800 models. These latest-generation 4K/8K laser projectors offer enhanced performance in terms of contrast and brightness.

JVC has announced the imminent launch of two new high-end D-ILA 4K home theater projectors: the JVC DLA-NZ900 and JVC DLA-NZ800. These two premium projectors are 4K 120p and 8K 60p compatible, and boast an even higher contrast ratio and brightness level than their predecessors.

They are equipped with a new, exclusive third-generation 4K D-ILA device, perfected and combined with a new BLU-Escent laser light source for enhanced contrast and brightness. The JVC DLA-NZ900 replaces the JVC DLA-NZ9BE, while the JVC DLA-NZ800 is positioned between the JVC DLA-NZ7BE and the new JVC DLA-NZ900.

The JVC DLA-NZ900 is the new flagship in the manufacturer’s range of premium home theater projectors.

Key features

3rd generation D-ILA devices

JVC’s new projectors feature 3rd-generation 0.69-inch 4K D-ILA devices, offering up to 1.5 times the native contrast of previous generations. The JVC DLA-NZ900 achieves a record native contrast of 150,000:1, compared to 100,000:1 for the JVC DLA-NZ9BE.

More powerful BLU-Escent laser source

The laser source of these projectors has been optimized to achieve a maximum brightness of 3,300 lumens on the JVC DLA-NZ900 and 2,700 lumens on the JVC DLA-NZ800.

8K 60p and 4K 120p compatibility

These JVC projectors can receive and display 8K 60p and 4K 120p signals, thanks to the adoption of high-performance LSI chips to process 8K video streams. What’s more, the 4K 120 fps input and low-latency mode allow these projectors to display high-frame-rate video games.

2nd generation 8K/e-shiftX technology

JVC’s exclusive 8K upscaling processing has been perfected to better reproduce native 8K sources (8192 x 4320 pixels).

Large diameter all-glass lens

The JVC DLA-NZ900 uses an ultra-low dispersion 100mm diameter lens for accurate projection of 8K images, while the JVC DLA-NZ800 features a high-resolution 65mm diameter lens.

2nd generation Frame Adapt HDR

Deployed in an update in late 2023 for previous-generation JVC D-ILA projectors, Frame Adapt HDR Gen2 technology is natively compatible with the JVC DLA-NZ900 and JVC DLA-NZ800. It analyzes the brightness of HDR content frame by frame and adjusts the dynamic range in real time to reproduce brighter, more colorful HDR images with a wider dynamic range.

What’s more, both projectors are equipped with the Deep Black function, which enhances depth and detail in dark areas of the image.

Filmmaker Mode

Available via an update on the previous generation of JVC projectors, Filmmaker mode is now available natively on these new models. The latter deactivates functions such as image interpolation and noise reduction, and adjusts color temperature, so users can enjoy films and documentaries with an image quality that faithfully recreates the director’s intentions.

Clear Motion Drive

This original JVC technology, designed to reduce afterimages, benefits from a new, improved algorithm. Combined with Motion Enhance technology, which optimizes D-ILA device control, the new JVC projectors offer much smoother reproduction of 4K and 8K images (this treatment is deactivated on 4K 120p images).

Price and availability

The JVC DLA-NZ900 and JVC DLA-NZ800 will go on sale in June for €25,999 and €15,999 respectively.
