Renowned accessory manufacturer NorStone unveils two new weight-dependent acoustic absorbers. The promise? To eliminate interference and vibrations and unleash the full sonic potential of your hi-fi or home theater system!

Vibration and resonance reduction

Many components in our hi-fi and home theater systems are sensitive to external vibrations and interference. Bookshelf speakers placed on a cabinet, for example, can turn the furniture into a resonance chamber. The same applies to a subwoofer, which can diffuse sound waves into the floor, disturbing the surrounding environment. Sources are also very sensitive, particularly turntables and CD players, which can be disturbed by bass or the movements of users in the room. Dealing with these interferences is therefore an essential step when optimizing the performance of any audio system.

Acoustic absorbers (shown here with NorStone Acousteel Damp 200 feet) eliminate unwanted vibrations to ensure optimum operating conditions. Here, they are used with a turntable, a component that is highly sensitive to micro-vibrations that can disrupt playback and be picked up by the phono cartridge.

For speakers, subwoofers and electronics

The French brand NorStone, well known for its hi-fi furniture and accessories, also has extensive experience in acoustic treatment. The NorStone Acousteel Damp 100 and NorStone Acousteel Damp 200 absorbers offer a complementary solution to the NorStone Damp 50 pads. Whereas the existing models are made entirely of rubber, the new Damp 100 and 200 adopt a more robust design, with a nickel-plated brass structure. This is complemented by a silicone rubber base to absorb and suppress unwanted vibrations. This structure blocks interference to maximize listening clarity, fine detail and limit distortion.

By limiting the transmission of vibrations, the NorStone Acousteel Damp 100 feet reduce resonance and smooth out the bass register, for clearer sound.

With a diameter of 38.6mm and a height of 22.5mm, the NorStone Acousteel Damp 100 stands are the most compact. Sold in sets of four for €79, they can accommodate a total load of 30kg, ideal for bookshelf speakers, a CD player or a turntable, for example. The NorStone Acousteel Damp 200s, on the other hand, are designed for heavier items, with a maximum capacity of 80kg for the set of four feet, priced at €99. This means they can be used with large hi-fi amps or AV receivers, and even subwoofers.
