Final unveils the Porta, a pair of 40 gram on-ear Bluetooth headphones that put lightness back at the heart of on-the-go listening. Its wire headband, round ear pads, and open-back design are reminiscent of accessories associated with 1980s portable players. In an era of wireless headphones equipped with large batteries and multiple features, the Japanese manufacturer offers a model stripped down to the essentials, designed for everyday listening.

The Final Porta, ultra-lightweight 40 g Bluetooth headphones
With their minimalist structure, the Final Porta sit comfortably on your ears thanks to small foam ear pads. The headphones’ weight of 40 g is their standout feature. Final is targeting listeners who prefer discreet headphones for extended listening sessions at home, at the office, or on the go.

Two versions are available at launch: black with orange ear pads or black with black ear pads. Final sums up this approach with a clear statement: “The best comfort comes from lightness.” The ear pads will also be replaceable, with replacement parts scheduled for release in 2027.
The Air Wire headband puts comfort first
Final replaces the traditional padded headband with a thin metal frame called Air Wire. This reduces the contact area with the head and gives the headphones a very open silhouette. This design choice allows Final to keep the weight down while incorporating a battery and Bluetooth connectivity.

In terms of sound, Final promises a sound signature centred on rich mids and low frequencies, designed to give vocals more body. The headphones have a frequency range of 20 Hz to 20 kHz, which corresponds to the audible spectrum typically covered by consumer headphones.
Bluetooth 5.4, calls, and eight hours of playback
The Final Porta feature Bluetooth 5.4 and support the SBC and AAC codecs. This allows them to connect to compatible smartphones, tablets, and computers. The HFP profile also enables hands-free calls.
Final claims up to eight hours of battery life and a charging time of about an hour and a half via USB-C. The IPX4 rating provides protection against water splashes. The Porta will be available in Japan on October 23, 2026, for 12,800 yen, or about €69. European availability and pricing details have yet to be announced.
Retro style takes over DAPs
The Porta’s design is part of a broader trend in portable audio. Devices inspired by the 1990s and 2000s are making a comeback, featuring compact sizes, physical controls, and instantly recognisable silhouettes.
The FiiO Snowsky Echo Mini, for example, revives the spirit of the Walkman while incorporating a dual DAC, 3.5 mm and 4.4 mm headphone outputs, Bluetooth, and high-resolution playback. The FiiO Snowsky Disc, for its part, draws on the design of portable CD and MiniDisc players with its circular touchscreen. The Hidizs AP30, meanwhile, takes its inspiration from the world of handheld gaming consoles.
